My husband has just gotten a prescription for Viagra! We are in our early 50s and he has a newspaper route as well as a "real" job. He is tired/sleepy all the time.... We are planning a weekend trip to celebrate our anniversary later this month....... Any thoughts/suggestions?

Don't let him take a pill now. That way, you'll know there will be better things to come on your anniversary.........:flowers:

Set your stopwatch so he doesn't exceed the four-hour limit ;)

Jhammock,

Suspect you're not really looking for "suggestions" on what to do on your weekend...you're looking to find out if the darned stuff works, right? :flowers:

You do realize none of the Viagra users on the list are gonna 'fess up?

Wishing you both a wonderful anniversary trip...and make sure you get enough sleep, he he he....

That's TMI, especially after 6 posts. What will you be like once you're comfortable here?

I have taken it twice. Judging by my experience, I would advise you take along a broad-minded girlfriend, because you may not be able to handle all that hubby can dish out.

I didn't tell my partner that I had taken it; all she said afterward was ¡Jesus!

I took it once more. The main thing I noticed was I you almost have to decide."OK, it's time to give her a rest". Otherwise I think you could go forever. Not that I mind that of course... After I while I actually thought "I wonder if she has any cute friends nearby"? I felt kind of disappointed like you feel when you have a great bed of hot coals in the grill and you are all out of meat to cook.

:)

Ha

I've tried Viagra,Cialis and Levitra and none of them worked for me,doctor says its the Diabetes thats causing the problem and he says these drugs work for some people and dont do a thing for others ,good luck but dont get your hopes up.

Kudos to you guys that try something to enhance your/your partner's sex life.

I'm beginning to think it was a mistake to make this post. I have not gotten the response that I was expecting. I assure all of you that I was not trying to make this appear as lewd or off color. I was just trying to get some information because I really don't know a lot about this medication, plus the fact that my husband is overweight and is a heart patient. I guess I should ask someone how to withdraw this whole thread.

Well most of us are not doctors, so one would think your DH cleared that part with whoever gave him the medicine.

Anyway, there is a lot of info in this thread. Reponses to this drug and motivations for using it vary. As they always say on the internet, YMMV.

Don't forget, you introduced the thread with the information that you and hubby were going away for a love weekend. If love is lewd, I'm a frog.

Ha

With all respect, your original post really doesn't sound like a request for information about a medication. It sounds like an enthusiastic announcement about your upcoming anniversary celebration with your husband and his new friend Viagra. Not sure what response you expected. I read a lot of legitimate questions about medicines and this sure didn't sound like one.

Well, no big deal. Enjoy the weekend and I suggest you have your husband address any lingering concerns about its safety with his personal physician before use, because viagra and heart problems can in some cases be a bad combination.

Pack a picnic basket
Make reservations for a dinner theatre
Float in the hotel pool
Order room service in the am
Go to an art gallery
Do something out of the ordinary and have fun. Anniversaries are important:flowers:

I'll try to help you out. We found that booze and Viagra really don't play well together. DH and I used this as a back up during our honeymoon. Worked great except when hubby had a few at dinner then it set his heart racing. He said he could feel his pulse in this teeth. Kind of shut down the whole game for the evening. You can find loads of information at
MedlinePlus Health Information from the National Library of Medicine a great site for medical information.

As for the pills not working after a time? Well that is true. Hubby and I tried them all. Cialas worked the best since it allowed us to time when we wanted to do the do. However that eventually failed.

The best advice I can give it not to give up and see a MD who specializes in ED. Some urologist do this as a side light. This is not what I am talking about. Find a doctor whose main practice is ED. There are many treatment options out there beyond the pills but first you need a proper medical work up including labs and ongoing follow up.

My husband is diabetic and has high blood pressure and is slightly overweight and takes meds for the high blood pressure and diabities. This is not the kiss of death for sex so do not accept that. We got the right treatment for him and knock boots several times per week. Life is so good.

BI-MIX NUMBER 9
(tune is Love Potion No. 9)

I went to the MD office, to score blue pills,
You know, that men’s sex clinic, up in Cherry Hill.
They’ve got a practice that serves guys really fine,
And seven little bottles of … Bi-Mix No. 9.

I told ‘em that I had a floppy dick.
It started ‘way back in 2006.
Doc looked at my Johnson and he made the ‘OK’ sign.
He said, “What you need is … Bi-Mix No. 9.”

Doc bent down, turned around, and gave it a flick.
He said, “I’ll inject it right here in your prick.”
He’s gonna what? – in my what what!
I felt the stab; I felt the push; I got firm dick!

My shaft got so hard it felt like steel,
I finally had an iron rod that felt so real,
But when I made my girl squeal,
Four hours at a time,
She broke my little bottle of … Bi-Mix No. 9

Thanks, I appreciated your comments.

You were very brave to start this thread.
You may deserve a metal.
I think the group has handled it very well, good taste and good humor.
Enjoy yourselves, (no pun intended)
Steve
