Italy!

I found the pizza we tried in Italy (Florence) to be a revelation. Super thin crust and delicious toppings. We discovered the “Quattro Stagioni” (four seasons) pizza - 1/4 each mushrooms, olives, artichokes and prosciutto. I think we ordered it several different times, ha ha.

Oh yeah, and they ate their pizzas with knife and fork.
I was all in till that last sentence!

They served plate sized pizzas, so individual pizzas, and not cut into wedges, and people ate the pizza with knife and fork.

When in Rome…. which is what we did. It was still very delicious.

I think what dominates in Florence is Neapolitan style pizza.
Since Neapolitan pizza is thin, it isn't designed to handle the weight of too many toppings. In fact, Neapolitan pizza is so thin that it's typically eaten with a fork and knife.
