Still 130# and ok with that for now. I have stopped the upward trend! Now, to get it going downward...

I have exercised every day since Sat, except for today. Will be back at it tomorrow. I packed a bag full of exercise clothes and also full of snacks. I change at work, have a snack, and head straight to the gym. So far, this is helping me workout more consistently.

Still 130#. Still exercising almost every day.

The culprit is the weekends...and DH. I get home from work Friday, and he starts plying me with gin and tonics. And once I start having a drink or two, well, I start eating. DH is such a bad influence. He bought wings this weekend AND french fries and sits them in front of me after I've had a drink or two. No mortal, IMO, can turn that down...

Soooooo....I've had several discussions this week with him about NOT doing this to me on the weekend, at least until I get back down to my 125 - 128# happy weight range. I can maintain that weight typically (even with being "bad" on the weekends), but I surely can't get back down to it with the weekend blow outs.

I think I've got him on board now....I hope! :p

I just read this email outloud to DH, and he snickered. Good grief! :bat:

Stable weight with a decrease in fat? I can live with that. Might just be a fluctuation, though. My upper body is starting to feel a bit stronger again, with twice-a-week shoulder rehab. Lifting much weight still isn't good for me, and it'll be another month before my next doctor's appointment.

Look for my weight to be up next week when I check in. We're going away for the weekend, which will mean several big meals of Mexican food, ice cream, some candy, and other assorted goodies. No way I'm going to be able to resist overdoing it. But I am figuring that I'll go back and do another round of my 6-day diet next week starting next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Finally I have a Wednesday that is not a local maximum! First goal reached and I'm adding a new shorter term goal.:)

:dance:very well done - congratulations on getting to your first goal:clap::clap:

Congratulations, NR4Purple!

I am up to 136 again. I had an icky experience. Remember I am an eater of sweets under stress. Lots of job stress lately - if I described it, it would sound silly, but it's been bothering me so it's stressful. I had been avoiding every kind of sweet food quite successfully for weeks, but a large bag of dark chocolate pomegranate bits somehow found its way into the house and a great many of them went into my stomach.

I found out I can't eat this way any more. It's not "guilt," but an actual, horrid, physical reaction to the candy. My heart began to race and pound and I felt as if I'd be sick (I wasn't). Could I have "de-toxed" from sugar by not eating much of it for weeks, and now can't tolerate large doses of sugar?

Anecdote: After many years I have found that large amounts of salt or sugar make me gag.

Congrats to all who have lost weight this week, and for those who haven't, hang in there!

Amethyst, I have found that sometimes if I have too many calories at once (source doesn't matter), I will have heart palpitations. Guess our bodies are trying to tell us something!

Sorry to hear you are under stress. I don't do well with excessive stress. I feel for you!

4-1-2009 196.2# 22.4% fat
Due to a bout of bronchitis, I've cut way back on smoking.

4-8-2009 197.2# 21% fat
I think I'm at the limit where not eating much will get me without losing muscle mass. For the last month or so I've been eating a protein shake and coffee for breakfast steamed rice with hot mustard for lunch and then usually some stirfry or a burger for dinner. Prior to this I didn't eat breakfast at all which I hear is a bad thing to do.

187 lbs this morning, so -3 lbs.

....but I have to admit I'm starting to get tired. 8 hours of exercise a week is hard. :(

186 -1 lbs but I think I'm pretty much at a bottom. I'm 6' 2" and the tape measure body fat measurement puts me at about 18%, but I have to think that's a little high. I'll let you guys be the judge next week when I post the Hawaii pics.

Simplegirl...I didn't realize calories could give a person the jitters. It felt awful and was rather scary. After cutting way back, I seem to have lost my sugar tolerance...not a bad thing, I guess. No more sugar OD's for me! As for the stress, I am frustrated at work just now, but at least I am getting PAID, which is more than many can say!
F'dude, maybe you will lose weight faster while in SC...let's hope so...
Bestwife, 2 pounds in a week!
FrugApathy...definitely you want to eat breakfast. I find I can eat a very modest dinner if I've laid a good foundation (so to speak) with a nourishing breakfast.
Laurence...my husband is 6' 2.5" and 186 is heavy for him, but he's got a long, leggy wedge-shaped build--wiry, not muscular--so he only has space for about 175 pounds max. Your mileage probably varies :) We'll be watching for those pictures >:D

Well, I expected my weight to go up after a weekend of way too much food, but I still hoped I'd be under 200. No such luck.

I'm back on my 6-day diet starting today, so by next week I think I'll be in the 196 range.

Great progress over the past two weeks. I've also had to put away my largest jeans as they are too big now.

Yeah...I'm definitely at the limit of what diet can do for my bnody unless I start only drinking liquids like when I had bronchitis. I'm (re)joining a gym today and we'll see if that helps anything.

Didn't really do anything different this week except a little portion control and took the stairs at work a little more. I am thinking my body is getting use to not having soda. I was not expecting to see the scale dip below 215 so I am ecstatic with my results.

I bought a yoga mat a few weeks back but have not used it yet. I am watching fittv and doing a little exercise, but not enough where I would lose weight from it. Just getting up away from the computer and walking around the house more must be a factor.
