Boooo!! Having worked up to running 3 miles twice a week I've now hurt my back and it immediately shows on my weight. Better luck next week.

I'm outta here. All my weight loss attempts have done for me are to create a yoyo effect. I'm 12 lbs. down from where I was a year ago, but in the meantime I've yoyo'ed back and forth over a 22 lb. range. Everything I've read says this is worse than being overweight. I think I'll just try to eat sensibly and have fun, maybe get back on the scale in October or so, see what's happening. As a wise man has recently said, "Eat what you want, and die like a man!"

I didn't eat much last night and I was a bit dehydrated this morning, so my weight is reading slightly lower and my fat slightly higher than normal. I'm feeling pretty good right now. I'm making progress on my weight lifting routine and between lifting and martial arts I'm working out six days per week. I still have a layer of fat over my muscles, but I'm won't be that concerned about dropping weight until I get closer to my strength goals.

My weight was a bit down this morning, but also think I might be dehydrated. I just got back from a quick 1 week trip to Australia, so my body is a bit out of sorts at the moment. However, due to the emergency trip I had to drop out of boot camp. However, I am going to sign up for the next class as without a doubt it was having an effect on the shape of my body.

Seems like everyone is doing well or at least seeing some progress. SimpleGirl, you're back at your fightin' weight! Congratulations. Alan, hope your back is feeling better.
Aaron, good heavens, you are turning into a mawn-stah!

I'm at 136#, my official "Go No Higher Than" weight. Seeing 137# caused me to go on oatmeal/salads/zero sweets all week, which paid off. I intend to see 135# on the scale again.

NewLife, how are you doing on 1400 calories per day? I can't seem to get along on so little. I actually "hit the wall" while working out unless I eat at least 1600-1700 per day. They're good calories, too--not refined sugars and starches.

I second that comment for SG. She seemed disappointed to not lose from the previous week but is doing great and right on target.

Ditto for many posters this week, good progress.

My back is still sore so the aerobic stuff is still well down. Tried elliptical trainer yesterday but had to give up after 20 mins. Tonight I did lower body exercises and did 1 set instead of 2. But my back, which was feeling lousy when I got home from work, is feeling great now. That is down to the exercise, ibuprofen and/or a glass of wine

Thanks guys! I feel really great.

Alan, hope your back feels better soon. Uggh. I hate it when my back/nerve problem flares up!

It does seem like everyone did well this week: either lost or maintained. That is, except for Aaron - great job gaining! You are almost 10# up!

Amethyst, 1430 calories is down from my previous 1550 calorie daily limit. The calorie limit is due to my aggressive 90-day self-imposed goal. I am reassessed at the end of each month. If my body can handle more activity, I can feed it more calories. I pack in fiber and protein whenever possible, with plenty of water to make me feel full. I will be happier when I am nearer to 1600 like you.

Good luck!

newlife, it looks like you've got a well thought out plan there. The only thing that gives me pause is the 25g of fat. At 1430 calories, that's 15.7% of your diet, which is pretty darn low and that makes a diet tough to follow.

Make sure you get some of those calories before your workouts (to give you some energy while working out), and some afterwards, especially on strength training days.

Thanks Kronk. I keep my nutrition I give myself when cycling separate from everyday calories to avoid "bonking" on my rides. I hope to get my 1550 back soon as I reintroduce myself to more aggressive activity levels.

Going away this weekend to visit friends in Florida. It will be an all-out party weekend and the diet will go completely out the window. Hopefully I won't gain too much, but I plan to have FUN and enjoy myself!

This should be interesting, though. I haven't had a drink (except for 1 light beer) since dieting started 5 wks ago. It's going to go straight to my head!

Yesterday was a bit of a high-sodium day, which made my weight fluctuate up a bit. Yesterdays numbers were 1 pound lighter and 0.3% lower. Even though the numbers aren't really going anywhere, I'm feeling pretty good. Strength training is going pretty well and my endurance is pretty good.

Due to skipping a rest day to play tennis, today will be the 13th day in a row working out. That's too much, and I'll be taking a break over the holiday weekend. My diet will also be taking a break, so higher numbers are expected next week.
