Now at 8 weeks in range. Mini-goal is to beat my 10 week run I achieved in the summer of 2009.
Great work this week racy and JB, keep up the good work, you're both making great progress.
It's a beautiful day here so we are heading out for a nice long bike ride, and will stop somewhere for lunch. Need to be back by 4 to play tennis with my son. Retirement definitely makes getting plenty of exercise a lot easier.

Making progress. Sticking to my piece of fruit for breakfast, cup of soup for lunch, a couple of Corona Light or Amstel Light beers after work, and one serving of whatever DW fixes for dinner. And, moved up on TromboneAl's nut list from peanuts to almonds for snacks.
I've added weight training so hopefully some of this weight gain is the solid kind rather than the jiggly stuff!

Tule fog all week, made it tough to get out on the bike. Looks like we'll have some clearing this week which will help.
I bailed on this thread months ago due to frustration with my total lack of progress. I'm not going to be posting regularly now, but wanted to let you know what's up.
DW has recently become certified as a hypnotherapist. She's hanging out her shingle, but I'm going to be test subject #1. She's started working with me on my weight issues. Just started, so no big news (lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks. Might be normal fluctuation). I'm definitely hypnotisable, but I need to see how the suggestions work vs. my deeply seated resistance to weight loss. Since she started I've been getting up in the morning 3 times/week and heading over to the pool for a 1/2 mile swim. That is one of the suggestions we came up with, and so far I've been pretty good about it. Not my usual behavior exercise-wise.
I'll pop in occasionally and let you know how it's going.
I've also lowered my fasting blood glucose level from the low 200s to the 150s, and my BP has gone from 150/90ish to 120/70, although I attribute that more to starting using my Zona device again than weight or food choices. All in all, progress. See y'all in a month or three.
I may have found part of my problem. I just discovered there's another food pyramid. I've been using this one.

I did some googling and have determined I am a 'large frame man', (well, I already knew I was a man...) thus my ideal weight and BMI get to be adjusted up. When I reach 190 lbs my BMI will be normal, not overweight. That's my next intermediate goal.
