Jury Duty Notice - what to do?

Yes, we did that for 3 years. We voted absentee, and we paid state and local taxes.

I was called for JD during that time (forwarded to our APO box), as were some of my colleagues. Following their advice, I called the county courthouse, explained that I was working for the U.S. government overseas, and was told to write a letter for the court's records.

Nobody demanded that I take vacation and pay for a plane ticket, just so I could appear and be excused for some other reason. :) The moment we were back in the U.S., I got summoned again.

Oh yeah, that was way off. There are tons of US citizens living overseas, whether they are working for many years or married to someone overseas. They still have a right to vote, and they still owe/pay US taxes.
