Remember the TV show The Golden Girls? That would be a nice arrangement. I don't know what their financial arrangement was but they did appear to live in a nice house and really had a good social network going for them.

Sounds like a rational solution, but we Americans can't even ween ourselves off of our gas guzzlers ... (check out the morning commute and see how many 1 guy in a car are tooling along the expressway to their downtown or suburban j*bs).

IMO, our culture is one of independent indulgers. I doubt that this solution would work for even 1 month. This would be a great reality show scenario. 4 independent 'boomer roomies' at each others throats.
