Hello,
We are in the process of buying a new home and selling our current home. Our current house will close after the new home purchase and we will not have the funds available to use as part of our down payment on the new home, so we're pulling from savings and brokerage accounts for the purchase.
We'll have about $250k following the sale that I plan to put about $100k into general savings at about 4% interest, but would like to get a little better returns on the remaining $150k. Does anyone have any recommendations on where we should park the money that isn't too risky but will earn better than 4%? I'd like to have it relatively liquid while we contemplate whether we could use it for a business purchase.
