RIP - Roger Mudd

Here's a name from the past that I'm sure many of you will remember... He died this week of kidney failure at the age of 93...



Why do you want to be president Mr Kennedy? I vaguely remember that question...

From what I remember.....he seemed fairly neutral in his reporting. Unlike many today. Time flies....hard to believe he was 93.

I'd add Cronkite, Rather, Brinkley and maybe a few others to the last of the era. But that's just me..

He was my dad's favorite. A great reporter who served did the press proud.

Family knew him from back in the 1970s.

We were all sad when he got passed over for Cronkite's spot...IMHO he was a better journalist than Dan Rather will ever be.

I don't know that I could tell you who was best/better back then, but IMO, they all beat the "so called" journalist of today. Back then it seemed to me that ~80% of the reporting was based more on the facts and ~20% on their opinions/bias. Today those numbers are reversed... (IMO)
