Have any of you used aftermarket consumables for your Roomba? There is a significant difference in price. What are your thoughts and what manufacture have you been satisfied with?
Not Room a, but Dyson stick vac battery alternative for battery replacement when you have a boatload of Dewalt batteries and extra chargers... Working pretty well for me.
I bought authentic side brushes because the reviews complain about a lot of noise with the copy-cat brushes. I haven't needed the roller brushes yet but will probably buy authentic Roomba brushes too for the same reason. But I don't go through the brushes nearly as quickly as I do the bags and filters, so I'm good with buying the real thing for those two.
I have bought th after market filters & side brush. No issues. I have the i3. We have a lot of dog hair so once a month or so I pull out the rollers & dig out the dog hair that collects
I have a Roomba i6+ (the Amazon version of the i7+ with the only difference being the color) and had good luck with aftermarket roller brushes. But the last time I ordered the exact same brushes, the darn thing kept giving me an error message that the (brand new) "brushes need cleaning." I'd futz with them and they would work for another few minutes then another error. I sent them back and bought the much more expensive genuine part and haven't had another problem.
OTOH, the 3rd party side brush, filters, and bags have been fine. The aftermarket is so much cheaper I might give them another try later.
I'm going to purchase a smaller kit and see how it works. I just dislike throwing away a product unnecessary because I was being cheap. But being cheap is how we retired early...
