I did that the very first time I played, and have been sorely tempted to do it many times since. It's just natural, I think.
All the vertical words seemed OK to me. Two of the horizontals are words that a) Americans don't use much or b) Don't seem quite right for a word game. Of course I was accused of posting a "spoiler" on the Wordle thread for giving my personal views on the disappointing winning word, so I dasn't say more! What do I know of the discerning minds of other forum members?

Here is one funny foible: I figured out a
vertical word, and so I entered it as my next guess. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!
I think some words were dubious. My last word came down to a dubious word vertically (with a good horizontal word), or a dubious word horizontally (with a good vertical word). Of course, I chose the wrong one!
