I certainly do not want to start an argument with anyone, least of all Moderator Nords. Perhaps banning OAP is the right thing to do, especially in light of violating rules. I remember his posts being very creative, entertaining and informative. FAR more so than those of some of the barely intelligible rants posted by the semi literate of late. It’s too bad OAP couldn’t play by the rules because the absence of his posts diminishes this forum. It’s also unfortunate that the quality of the forum content is diluted by some others who are offensive within the rules.
I’m simply making an observation and expressing an opinion. I acknowledge my ignorance of any circumstances that caused the banning. I’m not suggesting that the ban is unwarranted.

I am a very low profile Mod and am the least assertive. Honest, OAP and his aliases have made many troubling posts. The decision to exclude him was not made by one Mod.

honobob.. never thought I would say this, but thanks for getting my back. I understand why OAP shenanigans might have been bollixing up the board as per Nords' description of events.. but in light of certain recent comments as you mentioned, I think it's funny and telling that the content of OAP's financial posts needs to be evaluated here:

His first few threads (what few of them he didn't delete) were great examples of retiring before ready, needing an asset-allocation education or a financial advisor, and dealing with market volatility.

God forbid anyone comes here needing advice on allocations, advisors, or volatility!

OAP did get tiresome with the Asian-babe soft porn.. not a prude, I.. but it became a kind of overbearing obsession. I had figgered that's why he was banned.

My imagination or was Cut-Throat a moderator? He seemed innocuous..
but I guess nooo-one knoows what goes ooon behind closed doo-ors!

For all those questioning the moderator's decisions, I suggest you try walking a mile in their cesspool. (I used to get paid to inspect submarine sanitation tanks-- I know whereof I speak.) Better bring your hipwaders and your hepatitis vaccines. And if you're not willing to volunteer the effort, or at least play by the rules, then you don't get to question the moderator's decisions.

Nah, not questioning the decision. I know that the guy is a "free spirit" and can be disruptive. I was more curious as to what drew the banning.

And for the record, I did volunteer the last time there was a call for mods.
