52 - in our guest bedroom. Outside started the day at -12. now at -1.
It is 44F outside right now, at 8:30 PM. Almost toasty after the cold weather earlier in the week.
Our low tonight is predicted to be:
29F by the NWS
33F by wunderground
33F by the weather channel
32F by accuweather, and
26F, 28F, and 32F by our three local TV news show weathermen.
So the NWS issued a hard freeze warning for tonight through 10 AM tomorrow. Not just a freeze warning, but a hard freeze warning, updated an hour ago.
TBH, I have no clue what to expect. Apparently it's a very difficult weather situation for predicting the low tonight. Guess I will start the faucets dripping, but I'll sure feel stupid about that if the low is 33 tonight.

Not to be a downer, but yesterday's bitter cold and snowy weather here on Long Island claimed the life of my co-op's long-time super. He had been clearing snow with a snowblower when he died of a heart attack. A neighbor (a retired paramedic) saw him laying in the snow from his window and ran outside to try to revive him. He yelled for others to call 911, which I and others did. Help arrived within a few minutes but it too late.
Sunny and 61 degrees in Central Texas today, with a low of 41 this morning.
Why is it that a winter weather event that hits the east coast is newsworthy but the same thing in Iowa or Nebraska isn't news? Is it the "flyover country" effect?
These are the mornings I'm glad to be retired...... -2
