At the moment there's often enough reason to say we're anywhere along the spectrum.

Exactly! The truth is nobody knows. Not any of us, not the “experts”, not the Fed, nobody. Something could happen tomorrow or next week or next month to dramatically alter the situation. And we’re in an election cycle which can also impact things.

Will there be a recession? Of course. It’s a natural part of the economic cycle. Do we know when or how bad or how long? Definitely not.
