A song that makes you burst out in laughing?

Almost anything by Loudin Wainwright III. Doin' the Math is probably most appropriate for this forum. If I can stop crying this one makes me burst out laughing.

All of that time, where did it go?
What did you do and what have you got to show, for it?

Where are they now, and what are they doing?
Everyone's ancient at your high school reunion.
Doin' the math don't bring satisfaction,
No more addition, now, it's all subtraction.

Doing the math ain't much of a thrill,
Us boomers have been busted, man, we're over the hill.

The people you knew are all starting to die,
And you're in that queue and you're wondering why.

Doin the math is kind of a bummer,
You best avoid crunching that number.

Cry of the Wild Goose: sung by Frankie Laine.
Doesn't make me laugh, but the lyrics sort of astonish me. Wild goose is no relation to redduck.

·
My heart knows what the wild goose knows
And I must go where the wild goose goes
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' foot or a heart at rest?

Tonight I heard the wild goose cry
Wingin' his way through the lonely sky
Tried to sleep, but it warn't no use
'Cause I'm a brother to the old wild goose

My heart knows what the wild goose knows
And I must go where the wild goose goes
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' foot or a heart at rest?

My woman is kind and true to me
She thinks she loves me, but more fool she
She's gotta learn that it ain't no use
To love a brother of the old wild goose

My heart knows what the wild goose knows
And I must go where the wild goose goes
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' foot or a heart at rest?

Oh, you wild goose
The cabin is warm and the snow lies deep
And I've got a woman who lies asleep
When she wakes at tomorrow's dawn
She'll find, poor soul, that her man is gone

My heart knows what the wild goose knows
And I must go where the wild goose goes
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' foot or a heart at rest?

Let me fly, let me fly, let me fly away
Spring is comin' and the ice will break
And I can't linger for a woman's sake
She'll see a shadow pass overhead
She'll find a feather beside my bed

My heart knows what the wild goose knows
And I must go where the wild goose goes
Wild goose, brother goose, which is best?
A wanderin' foot or a heart at rest?

Wild goose, brother goose
Wild goose, brother goose
Wild goose, brother goose
Wild goose, brother goose
Wild goose, brother goose
Wild goose, brother goose

Frankie was born Frank LoVecchio, but he adopted the name of his high school, Lane Tech, for professional purposes. Chicagoans on the forum are probably familiar with the school, which remains one of the more prominent public high schools in the city.

Not a song exactly, but an analysis of Wagner's Ring Cycle by the hilarious late opera singer Anna Russell. This is Part 1 of 3. There are several versions on YouTube but I think this is the funniest despite the poor video quality. If you spend 30 minutes watching this, you can save 19.5 hours at the opera!

"Colonoscopy" by Tim Hawkins :D

(On You Tube, but I cannot figure out how to post the link here.)

Sorry. The rest of you are far more adept at this than I am!

This might help.

This is how to add a YouTube link to a post. Google it, then go to the Videos tab. Then click on the description and copy what is selected in blue in this image. Paste that into your message. Delete everything but the YouTube URL, and preview.

Just about anything by Jonathan Coulton. My DH uses "Millionaire Girlfriend" as his ringtone.

She's my millionaire girlfriend, she's my life,
Once I finally find her, I'll ask permission from my wife
And we'll all live in her castle high,
My beloved and my millionaire girlfriend and I.

Thank you for sharing that! Brings back memories. My high school music teacher held seminars for interested students, focusing on music and art history, and we would listen to different genres. Most of stayed close friends with one another and with him. For fun he played Anna Russell recordings one night. I remember laughing until it hurt!

Thanks for posting that! I'd never seen that before, and just watched all three. What a talented and funny lady!

Now I don't ever have to worry about buying tickets to see that opera (especially at "those prices"!)

+1. I "listened" to the 1953 version on YouTube. Some people swear by the Ring series but I could never get into it. Anna's version? I can get into it easily :D.
