Great Solos

It seems like mainstream music is moving more towards overproduced pop and away from extraordinary musicians. Here's a thread to post some of your favorite solos.

Lots of good solo's out there but this one came to mind. Steely Dan
Since some of my other favotites were already listed.

I was listening to some older Beatles tunes earlier today and began to realize I never gave George Harrison his due repect for all the fine Guitar work he added to the group. Seems like lots more credit was given to John & Paul.

YouTube - Steely Dan - "Reeling In The Years"

I don't know how you paste things from YouTube here but check out one of my favorites, Maria Callas singing "Casta Diva" from "Norma".

I'm trying to find a better copy with the original members but they are hard to come by.
Oh well, I guess this one will be my best bet.

A lot of their music was recorded live so quality is not great. One heck of a jam band.
Steve

Must not forget Duane Allman played on this too.

You guys are just too young. Here's Jay Black from Jay and the Americans. Kenny Vance who is one of my favorite singers is in the back up group.

Age has nothing to do with it. Some people enjoy a wide variety of music across the ages. Still looking for the solo what mark did you find it at?

Fantastic drum work.
Toward the end of the last solo, I was checking out the bass drum work. Really fast and very good.
Before the invention of the double bass pedal too.

Just noticed a couple of the Allman Brother links are gone.
Not sure if they were removed by the Mod's or not?
May have to visit youtube to see them.

Well maybe I'll put them back up then.
Didn't know if I broke a rule or something?
I've been known to bend a few, but try to not actually break them
Thanks for the info,
Steve

PS. Just tried to put the Allman Brothers song back up and got the same disconnect.
Must be something happening on the YouTube end.

I didn't know how to do this either, so I searched it out. What a shock to listen to this after all the rock and roll.

Here's how.

YouTube will continue to remove them. As I understand it, if the owner of the linked material objects they disable the ability to see the clip from any other site other than YouTube.

Here's something from of my favorite albums. I've heard that he had to fight to keep it true to his minimalist concept.
