NFL: 2016 Season

Interesting, but very weird. They have the "St. Louis" Rams ranked dead last in almost every stat, in the bottom quartile in pretty much every other stat, and 5th overall. I think their algorithm needs tweaking. It will probably change to reflect reality a little better with more games under their belts, but so will everybody else's ranking system. At this point I'd tend to put more faith in a ranking system that puts the Rams and the Browns at the bottom than one that puts one team near the top and the other near the bottom when their stats are so similar.

Not sure what you are looking at but if you look at post #118 you will see that the LA Rams are ranked 31 out of 32 teams.

The post just above the one of mine to which you are responding. Post #122.

Agree. As I said before I usually wait a few more games before I check the rankings on that site.

The Buffalo Bills' defense gives up 37 points to the Jets and their offense score 31 points and this morning they fire the offensive coordinator:confused::confused:

Watching the game I thought the defense was playing awful and the offense was OK. If anyone to be fired after only two games it should have been the defensive coordinator but wait that's Rex' brother.

Forte is the real deal. 100 yds, 3 TDs. He's a young 30 year old by the way he stays in shape. I'm still upset that the Bears had no interest in keeping him.

Glad the Cowboys could hang on for the win. Seemed like the Dak and Cole Beasley show today, plus a few clutch plays by the defense when needed.

Well lets see if history can avoid repeating itself. Chargers blew a 21 point lead last week, and are now up 21-0 at half this week.
My Ravens season over bet is off to a nice 2-0 start, but they have looked less than impressive at times in beating two mediocre teams at best....ok, they are bad teams...But that is why I took the bet because they got the last place schedule to play.

I'm not going to mention the Texans for fear I'll jinx them next week.

I'm a Texan fan but have never expected too much from them. (Same with the Oilers before them) Osweiler was intercepted again this week on first first series. However, overall, they played about as well today as I've ever seen them play. MegaWatt seems to be back "near" 100% and is starting to rack up sacks and fumble recoveries. At least they don't have to face Brady when they play the Patriots Thursday night.

Another good day for me too. I usually bet the same amount each week on the Texans. "Sometimes" I will bet on the Cowboys and Saints when I can find even money bets and depending on who they are playing. I also bet on the Broncos last year but have dropped them off my watch list. I may add Green Bay this year,,,, maybe....

Dare I ask...Is there life after Romo?

I hope so. I've followed Prescott through his college days and he has come a long way. He played at my old college(MS State). Early in his college days he was not the most accurate, but he improved a lot by his senior year. He has always been a good runner, but can't do a lot of that in pros and stay healthy.

To be honest, I was just hoping he would make the team and then have a couple of years to hold the clip board and learn. But he has done of good job of taking advantage of the playing time that fell into his lap.

Absolutely, and I would guess that everyone except Jerry recognizes that. What makes Dak great is his work ethic and leadership. He is a Louisiana boy. LSU came after him too late in the college recruiting process and MSU got him instead. LSU surely kicked themselves over not committing to him earlier.

Can the Texans beat the Patriots (playing in Boston/Foxborough) and their 3 string QB tomorrow night (just by 1 point)?

Thoughts?

Sure. Just hurt the third stringer. They don't have any other QBs.

Sounds like the tactics used by the New Orleans Saints a few years ago

If the Pats beat the Texans with Brissett as their starting QB it would be another great coaching job by Belichick.

Posters who have been absent lately from this thread claimed that Belichick can't win without Brady. He is now 13-5 without him.

It will be a difficult task for the Pats to beat the Texans but not be impossible. Keep in mind that O'Brien, Crennel and Godsey were assistants in NE.

Not hard to do if you're deflating balls and stealing offensive/defensive signals.

For the Pats, that's a good luxury to have. That is, can win with all QBs regardless of more the system or QBs.

Of the young QBs out there, that guy from the Eagles is impressive. Connor Wentz. Of course, he beat a lowly Bears team, yet looks cool and collected, only his second start.
