19 above! For the first morning in a couple of weeks it's above zero at sunrise.

More of a "this weather is great" post. Last night was the first night of the year that the temps stayed above freezing, hopefully spring is on the way. Just waiting now for the first unmistakable sign of spring - a dead skunk on the road.

It's already 60F here, at 11 AM. Highs predicted to be in the 60's until Thursday, when they move into the 70's.

Hope it stays warm for the first week in March, with Mardi Gras on March 8th this year!

I hope you take some pictures of Mardi Gras and post them for us this year W2R. Should be special given your recent decision to stay in the wonderful city of New Orleans

We're pretty excited about the forecast for temps in the 50s later this week. I'm thinking it's time for lunch and a movie with my mom. We haven't done that in quite a while.

Mostly sunny today, above 50F for first time in a long time. Supposed to be warm all week. Heard some birdsong.

Snow on the ground last week, playing golf in shorts this week. Finally some winter weather I can dig.

Spring is here.

Actually, this is the fifth winter we've spent in the Hill Country, and so far *every* winter has ended rather abruptly right around Valentine's Day. Looking at the last couple weeks and the long term forecast from here, I'd say this one appears to be doing the same. Now we just need some rain.

Mid 50's today and low 60's tomorrow. Later on today I'll put some miles on the bike and then take DW out to belated Valentine dinner. Tomorrow is a "girl's day out" for her with her sister and an aunt and I'll be in the saddle all day.

Here we go again
NWS - Enhanced Doppler Radar National Mosaic Loop

I am SOOOOOOO glad I hired a snowplowing guy. I just gave him the 2nd of 3 payments of $100 cash to put in his gas tank. The $300 season rate is worth every penny!

This morning it was minus 29 degrees Centigrade (minus 45 with the windchill). That's equivalent to -20 F, or -49 F with the windchill.
Yesterday I stayed home and did laundry. Today I went out for breakfast with friends, then we went for a drive and I did some grocery shopping.

Cabin fever is setting in.

Today and yesterday we had a high of 75F, which was much more pleasant than Friday's summer-like high of 80F.

We are wearing shorts half the time and enjoying the pleasant temperatures. Amazing, isn't it, considering your temperatures up in Canada! It's hard to imagine that some places are still getting snowfall.

But be patient... in July and August we will envy your cool and comfortable summertime temperatures.

I have seen snow in May and have heard about it in June. And summer here can be plus 35 degrees C (which is nice because for the most part, it's not humid!). Around here there are two seasons: winter, and construction season!
