You over-reacted. What could this guy have been charged with? Taking a picture in a public place of a stranger? Is that illegal? He could have said he thought he knew the woman. He's an idiot but imho you are lucky he didn't call a cop himself when you physically escorted him out of the area. If I were you and it bothered me that much I would have turned it over to someone official at the event.

what erd50 said, plus, what amazing eyesight or presumption (even if correct) to be able to know precisely what was in focus in the other person's camera's viewfinder. maybe the guy was just taking an offcentered picture of your crotch. which way does it lean? because certainly you think you have the balls for it.

which is more perverted? seeing a woman's body which turns you on and wanting to take a picture to preserve the moment or seeing a person who you assume preserving a moment and further assuming the photo "nefarious" in nature and connecting that all with a notion of being at a breast cancer event. does anyone seriously think--even if the guy was indeed snapping boobs--that the pervtographer made all those connections? if your own perverted mind hadn't made such connections, would the photo have seemed so dirty? would an artist ever make a point of painting breasts at an awareness affair for breast cancer?

chivalry or inhibition? here's another news flash: sexual attraction is not perverted. it is natural. so get over it. fight to veil yourself or take a chance to avail youself. but know what you are fighting for.

Interesting perspective from someone who regularly rants about his own right to sexual privacy.

I think his "rants" are more about his right to sexual freedom, but I could be wrong.

This thread is wonderful. I am a student of semiotics, the meaning and significance of signs and symbols. If the schizphrenia involved in American ways of dress and American attitudes toward sexuality doesn't make you scratch your head nothing will.

Yesterday I accompanied a friend to a big regional mall where she wanted to do some shopping. I often got bored while she tried on dresses and stuff, so I went out and walked around. Acres of cleavage! Jeans so tight that waddling was difficult, normal walking out of the question. On the younger women skirts as short as LA in 1968. This was an upscale mall, so most of the patrons were "height/weight proportional". None of this of course intersts me except as an intellectual and historical curiosity, but it sure qualifies there.

Now what is the purpose of this dress, other than sexual titillation? But overall it seems that in America the proper response to all this lovingly displayed flesh is to not see it, or perhaps to condemn it if you come from a certain religious traditions. Da Nile is not just a river!

This is not comment on Fed's companion, who may have been being photographed not because of her appearance but perhaps because she reminded the photographer of his sister, or as Lazy suggested, maybe she wan't even the intended subject.

Ha

Related to this, but not saying the guy was innocent: I was taking pictures at some event at a county fair a few years ago with a Sony Mavica. With that camera, you could delete pictures, change settings, etc. through the viewfinder, and it did not simultaneously show an image of what you were pointing at.

I was doing just that for a few minutes, and when I looked up I found (you guessed it) that the camera had been pointed at a girl's butt right in front of me. Got a dirty look.

Women wear revealing clothing so they can be noticed by certain types of guys (rich and attractive). If you're neither of those things, then you're not supposed to look.

As a married guy I look anyway, while simultaneously looking to see if my wife catches me doing it.

You guys still havent figured it out.

Women dress to impress other women.

If by chance it catches the eye of a good looking guy, thats just a minor bonus.

I'm surprised that a woman would wear something that shows off her breasts at an event at which some or many have had to have one or more breasts removed.

When I went to the testicular cancer awareness dinner, I was very careful about what I wore.

I have to wonder how the female attendees at such an event would show off the "crown jewels"....

I agree that you were OK with calling him out, but not touching him...

HE DID NOTHING ILLEGAL...... unless he did some up skirt shots... everything he took pics of were 'out in the open'.... so even if you called him out he could have told you to take a hike...

As I think about this more, I think Fed should have formed a lynch mob and got rid of this dirtbag right then and there. One terrible male person removed from God's Green Acres, and Fed would get his hit off the drama pipe too.

A Twofer.

Ha
