National Park Service

One of the very best ideas America ever had. I loved when the family went to the NPs when I was a kid, and now my kids love it too.

I've been back from my ERT (epic road trip) for about a month. I drove 11,243 miles in 7 weeks, 17 national parks. I can't wait to do it again, next time with my camper.

We fell in love with Saratoga National Park, when we lived nearby, in the City of Saratoga back in the late 60's to late '70's. It was 10 minutes from our house, and our 3 kids then more or less grew up there, in the wonderful swimming pool and other youth facilities.
Did you know that it was the Battle of Saratoga where in 1777 during the War for Independence, that it was the first time in history that the British Army was ever defeated?
And if you've never heard of SPAC, you really need to look it up, here:https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Saratoga_Performing_Arts_Center

We were there for the first special event performance, (Harry Belefonte) and later on, went almost every night of the season, when a new show would come in. As I recall, the ticket price was $1.75 with kids free... (lawn seating) and it was part of our budget. Wonderful, wonderful.. and it was when I fell in love with Karen Carpenter.

Since then, almost every major performer in the US has given a Concert at SPAC.

Among the fondest memories of our lives. :)
