Is Everyone Seeing George Soros?

^^ What they said. :yup:

+1 to FireFox/AdBlock Plus (and NoScript). When I use IE it's kind of jarring to suddenly see the clutter and distraction of ads. It's like advertising on television. For all our lives we've been used to our shows being interrupted by blaring commercials, but after avoiding "live" television in favor of Netflix for a couple of years, DW & I are surprised to find television almost unwatchable because of the annoyance of commercials inserted in the middle of the show.

I realize that many web sites depend on advertising revenue, so I have mixed feelings about the use of AdBlock Plus. I have disabled it on a few sites for that reason.

Can we get the ad back on again about good real estate investment opportunities in Bulgaria? I never had a chance to go back and click on it, to see what I might be missing...

Agreed. When there are sites that I want to support and such, I will leave ads on and even occasionally click through. But that requires that the ads not be obnoxious or too intrusive. Garden-variety banner ads are something I could usually take. But the political ones irritate the crap out of me (in the general case) and normally I'd want to block ads on a site that has them. But I feel at least some obligation to not do so here.

It is clear that Google has some software that is capable of parsing my posts. I have never seen a liberal oriented political ad. Mostly I am encouraged to hate George Soros, which seems a little off topic even for a committed social conservative. When I posted "Who's your Daddy?" I started seeing ads for dating young women.

I really should break down and get Firefox, but then I wouldn't have this insight into my web image.

Ha

Ha, not to disount your hypothesis, but I am seeing dancing heads of Soros, Pelosi, Reid and Michael Moore. But then again, maybe the mods are doing it just to antagonize me?:D

Same here with the dancing heads.
I've told George over and over again not to call me, cuz I don't want to see him anymore, but he persists.
He just can't take :nonono: for an answer. ;)

A while back I did a test on what is being tracked by this forum.

You might notice in the above link all the activity tracking that is done. For fun and profit I presume. Each time anyone posts a message that message is analyzed for content and ads are tailored based on content. YMMV.:)

..I have found a constructive way to deal with these annoying ads.
Now, who should I link with the erectile dysfunction screenshot?:D

No, my mileage does not vary at all from that. That is exactly what i figured had to be happening, from looking at the ads I see.

Ha

So now one besides me is seeing the IE 8 ad with the strange extra mouse pointer? First time I ran my mouse across it I wondered if my wheaties had been laced with something odd?

I'm seeing the IE8 ad also.
Can we be bad children and put some out of context words here as bait to see what ads pop up? No 4 letter words of course , just silly stuff like kangaroo, pregnancy, aardvark, Metamucil, diarrhea, Mickey Mouse, locusts, etc etc
Real time update - This post just caused my ad to change from IE8 to Showboat Mardis Gras Casino. Now which keyword caused that change? Aardvark or locusts? ;)

No fair! All I get is that same old "Neptune Memorial Reef" ad.

:(

If you promise not to take that personally, I try to do the same with the IE 8 ad...

Firefox fan here...

Everytime I click on Calmloki's post "Funding Private Loans" I get the three (text-only, no graphics) links to mortgage loans popping up.. and only see it when I open this thread... It's a mind-control conspiracy, I tell you! :D

Richard Kiyosaki is a tool.

These Soros/"liberal" banner ads are starting to dominate the "rotation" of banner ads -- seems like 75% of the banner refreshes are some form of it these days. These people must be paying a lot of money to [-]spam[/-] "inform" us of this political dreck...

Didn't we ban political dreck from FIRE back in January?
