ACA 2020 Open Enrollment Nov 1 to Dec 15

looks like the first time my rate will decline.

Good for you. Mine up another $80/mth with lower benefits. Now up 40% in 26 months. So thankful I guess that I'm so old that Medicare kicks in Aug 2020. Won't comment on ACA subsidies

We received our BCBS TX 2020 enrollment letters today. Our plan continues with very small increases in the deductible max OOP. No other changes. We will be automatically renewed.

DH said his 2020 premium dropped $10!

I haven’t opened my letter yet so I don’t know the difference.

Yay - no action needed.

DH will be transitioning to Medicare in 2020.

I was in HealthSherpa.com. It has a blue banner in the front page says 2020 Plans are Here! start to shopping now. I clicked it and filled my personal information and it led me to 2019 special enrollment.
Perhaps its a system glitch because the others on the forum were able to view 2020 insurance plans

I just tested HealthSherpa.com for my zip code and it worked fine to show me 2020 plans and rates (as it did last week). Also, the actual Healthcare.gov website was also updated on Friday to allow you to view the 2020 plans and rates. If you aren't seeing this, you might try clearing your browser's cache and then trying.

My Bronze HSA from Anthem Blue Cross in CA will go up about 10%.

There was a recent article about premiums going down for some people but it sounds like it's because some states may have gotten more insurers on their exchanges.

Thanks PaunchyPirate.
I went back to HealthSherpa.com, it is still the same.
I went to healthcare.gov, after entering the zipcode, it led me to state exchange. The state exchange did provide the 2020 insurance coverage but no price entry per 2020 income.
My 2020 income has down a quite of bit, I would like to see which coverage is obtaining more subsidies. There is a Compare Coverage button but it led me to my home page after I clicked.

I'm guessing this might all be caused by the fact that it sounds like your state has its own exchange. I'm in Pennsylvania and we use the federal exchange. For example, you could try my zip code -- 16335 to see if the sites work for you. That would at least tell you that it's not your computer/browser.

PaunchyPirate - you are a Pal, may thanks!!!

I called in to Admin for the state exchange, it is a system glitch, I should have seeing the compare plans may be when the glitch is over. I will wait.

I have BCBS PPO plan for 2019, about 4k premium annually but only used a couple of times. I am thinking of switch plan to lower the annual premium to lower the overall cost.

Meeting next week with provider and premiums going down she said.

Good luck to you as well......that is the direction we are heading. Hope ACA stands the test of time. I want to be subsidized for a change!!

Just got my renewal letter yesterday for our plan here in Connecticut. Same plan no changes and premium is going up ~19% next year, $1820 a month for two of us. Luckily my company provides me with an HRA of $13,000 a year. Still hurts as my wife maxes out her OOP every year and I've also maxed out mine this year!

My Bronze ppo with HSA from Blue Shield in CA went up 28%. But the good news is there are more insurance choices on the ACA exchange. I have found another equivalent insurance that has my PCP in-network that is 38% lower. And I have located a better dental plan that includes my current dental group in-network for 28% less. So win-win next year.

I just checked on mine (thank you for the Health Sherpa link!) and my current insurance is going up a bit more, but the real issue is our doctor/clinic isn't in network any more. Really sad as this insurance company has been really great (non profit, offers lots of incentives).

Called the clinic and they did confirm they are still trying to decide about being in network with them in 2020. :(

We could get a better/cheaper coverage plan (on paper any way) from a company called Ambetter and keep our clinic, and I'm reading that they offer LOTS of incentives (cash money for flu shots, checkups, gym stuff) which sounds great, but then I read that people absolutely hate them when I try to research the company. Anyone have any experience with Ambetter or able to direct me to where to look for realistic/balanced reviews?

We live in the Phoenix area and have had ACA plans with Ambetter for the past 3 years. Both of us are in our early 60's and in excellent health. Apart from DW needing a Mohs surgery procedure earlier this year, our health care needs have been almost entirely preventative (wellness exams, colonoscopy screen, flu shots, etc.) and not subject to copays or coinsurance.

Apart from their occasional annoying robo-call reminders, I wouldn't rate Ambetter any better or worse than when DW & I had to deal with our employer sponsored healthcare plans.

IOW, SOSDD.

Got the notice today. Our Silver Plan is going up $20 per month from $616 to $636.

I will be going on Medicare in February so not sure what the cost will be for my wife who has 3 years left on the plan.

I have been with Ambetter for three years in AZ. Their customer service is somewhat poor. They generally don't know the answers to questions that I have, but they are courteous and hold time is minimal. On occasion, I have found knowledgeable C/S people, but that is an exception. On the claims side, my DW and I are very healthy so we don't have much experience and we have a HD plan so we pay OOP. However, they are fair and the contracted rate reductions within the network are very good. For example, a PCP visit is billed around $200 and we pay $90. I suspect we will use them again in 2020.

Yeah, we've been on Ambetter for almost 2 years now and no issues with claims for doctor visits, tests, labs, prescriptions etc., and their rewards program has given us around $200-250 back each year (per person). On top of that we got over $800 back this year for the Medical Loss Rebate when their premiums exceeded 80% payout for claims. They are the cheapest option for the widest local network around here (WellStar).

We're getting ready to find out how well they truly work when my wife has elective surgery next month. Everything is in-network and we hae a $1k max OOP so we'll see.

Based on research today for DW here in NE Florida, using the same MAGI as 2019, her Silver Plan premium is rising form $0 pm to $68 pm. (An increase of 680% LOL) After Subsidies. This is still almost $3000 a year less than my proposed 2020 Medicare costs (Medicare Part B + Medicare Part G & D Supplements).

All other items stay the same. $0 Deductible, $1650 MOOP No Copay for Doctors Visits, $5 CoPay for Specialists, Same drug coverage, same doctors, same plan number as 2019.

Got my packet from Covered CA the other day. California fixed the Federal ACA cliff problem for 2020 with a new state-funded premium assistance up to 600% pf FPL. It looks like the new subsidy drops off gradually so not much incentive to play the game to keep it below the cliff anymore.

The new CA subsidy limits at 600% of FPL are:

Individual - $74,940
Couple - $101,460
Family of 4 - $154,500
