Using prior week's WW weigh in. Started WW at 205.4 in mid-August, 2010

Last Saturday's weigh in was great because we had returned from an 11 day vacation in London and I was happy to have lost 3.4 pounds. We did a ton of walking while on vacation (I wore a pedometer to keep track of WW points earned) and I tried to watch what I ate. I found it hard to eat low carb on vacation but did my best.

This is the first time I've been below the 170s in about 12 years.

I went back to WW last August 20 weighing 205.4 so I lost 35.8 pounds in one year. In some ways that isn't terribly impressive (only 3 pounds a month) but I stuck with it consistently and didn't miss a single day of tracking what I ate which I think helped me stay with it. About 25 pounds left to go.

Well, I've reached goal number one. I'm overweight now. No longer obese. I made it down to 226 from a high of 262 (6'1" tall). I haven't been this low in over 18 years. My next goal is easier, 225 (nice round number). After that, 220, then 210, then 200, which is my ultimate goal. I'd still be overweight according to the gov't chart, but I don't buy into that so much anyway. If/when I get there I'll reassess. Mostly, I figure that eating properly from now on will get me to some level of consistant weight that is healthy for me. Be interesting to see what that is.
 
I am still hovering just above my next goal .I injured my lower back last week so I have had to skip the gym this week and just be a couch potato with a heating pad so maybe next week I will finally meet goal #2.

My weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I'm still trending in the right direction, so that's good. In the short-term, I'm gunning for 265, which will mark 30 pounds lost since the beginning of June.

Maybe all that carrying anchors and such last night getting the boat prepped pre-hurricane helped me sweat out some poisons. Plus not getting much in the way of dinner. The llamas have now relocated and I'm thinking maybe a family of capybaras could move in. And yes, llama butt could easily be a great insult in the right company!

Great job katsmeow on the fortitude to keep up the routine for a year!

And Harley, that is great--I thought you were looking pretty good at FF, not that I could judge through the haze of corndogs and pints of beer I was enjoying at the time! Have you tried out the hoop yet? :D

I decided to bite the bullet and start again. After my physical on Monday, my doctor informed me I was obese, and I told her I prefer the term overweight. Anyway, her scale said I was 243.8. However, I am happy to report that as of this morning, I am:

8/31/2011: 241.5

Goal is 220 by this time next year...........:)

And yeah, my doc is heavy and she commiserates with the struggle to lose weight. But she did give me phentermine without batting an eye. It is helpful, but not a panacea.

Ron, I know all too well about the difficulty of keeping the weight off, as this is my second time down this same road, chronicled in this same thread. Good luck to you!

Fell a pound short of my short-term goal, but 29 lbs lost in 3 months is not too shabby. Best part is that even though I'm mostly eating lower carb, I haven't totally given anything up (except full-sugar soda), so I don't feel deprived. Every once in a while I indulge, but then go back to clean eating the next day. So far, so good.

One thing I've noticed, and I think Sarah mentioned a page or two back, is that my water consumption seems to have a large role in my weight loss. If I'm drinking a lot of water, my weight loss is pretty consistent. If I back off the water, it tends to stall out. I'm not sure why this is, but it's interesting.

Good luck on achieving your goal! You can do it - just make sure that you're burning off more calories than you take in and the weight will start coming off.

For the last two weeks I am stuck at the same weight . Of course I really have not been trying but now I am ready to get to work on my last five pounds.

Only a few days left before another 3 weeks of travel and visitors so I'm pleased to have knocked off 3lbs this last 2 weeks.
 
2009 - 195, New Orleans type food plus Kansas City BBQ.

2011 - 168, low carb, less fried, and spare BBQ plus exercise.

My Doc is from Metaire(aka New Orleans) and NOT skinny. :D

heh heh heh - going to New Orleans for a visit plus a wedding this month. I don't plan to weigh again for a while. :LOL: :LOL::dance:

Rocky and Carlos baked Mac., Mothers poor boys, Central Groc. Muff., and of course chili cheese fries. Or nuts and twigs. ??
