How to pay a sub-contractor oversees (India)

I know this is not directly related to the issue of ER, but it's related indirectly.
I'm trying to build a consulting business that would generate a modest supplemental income during ER.

And I would like to explore an option to hire somebody in other country. But I'm not sure how I do reliable and cheaply make payments to such person.

Since I regard this forum as best intellectual resource available, I am sure there are people here who knows exact answer to my question.
