Favorite vehicle you've ever owned

My first car a 62 Volvo P1800s - was easy to work on, reliable and had a cool factor. Got her from a family friend for $700 in 74. (good deal). I went on my first date in this car (alot of firsts in this car ). It lasted thru the 2nd year of college. I lived in upstate NY and the poor old girl died of cancer. I went to have new (cheap) tires put on and the shop would not put her up on the lift. They said she was so rusted, frame and all, they did'nt know what was holding her together.
I keep thinking of getting one now as a toy....midlife crisis.....

1990 Toyota Camry. I drove it until 2005 when I upgraded to a 2003 Camry and the 1990 went to my 18 year old son. He drove it until 2009 when it became just took expensive to keep repairing. Sold it on Craigslist for $250.

I love my 2003 Camry, too. Desert Sand exterior with a Taupe interior. You just can't get any more bland than that. But it's a good solid car and it's been extremely reliable.

Favorite car you've owned and why.

No question about it - - my favorite vehicle that I owned was my Aggie maroon 1987 Dodge Daytona, with manual sunroof and window controls. Nobody in the world was cooler than me, tooling around in my Daytona with the sunroof open, looking pretty and feeling like a million bucks.

And why was it my favorite, you ask? Because I bought it brand new, using part of the money I earned when I sold my A&M senior project. And, it was Aggie maroon, and fun to park on campus during that last semester before graduating.

The Muscle Boat​

Here I am about a year ago with my toy. I've shown it before in other threads. It looks a little different today. Currently has the paint stripped, all trim, hood, trunk lid and doors removed. I'm getting it restored-which is putting a serious dent in this years savings! Gotta live a little...

Bought it in 1984 in Havre, MT. It got me through HS and college as a daily driver. Currently a 3 season driver. Why is it my favorite? It is such a fun cruiser! Long, low and loud.

Handles well, modified 350 has decent power. It is now old enough that it has become a bit of a head turner.

The all-time favorite was the 1955 Piper Tri-Pacer, which I had a ball with in the two years I owned it. Then I did a very stupid thing and sold it to get married.

The airplane was a lot cheaper than she was.

It didn't turn out to be quite the chick magnet that I thought it would. Turned out most were afraid of flying in a single-engine airplane but I figured how could a line like "Wanna fly to Tangier Island for lunch?" not work.

Neither can I! It is a very complete outside restoration of the car. I had some spots where rust had eaten through under the chrome on the fender and under the vinyl top. Those were cut out. Vinyl and rubber parts replaced. Car won't look much different, though. Going with a similar color. Deep blue, with a hint of green in it.

I used to be a VW guy, but my current car (2010 Toyota Camry) is probably my favorite. Although I much prefer driving DW's current car (2010 Mazda Miata).

Now that we're into "vehicles"...
A toss up betweeen my 1976 Schwinn Sprint Bent-Tube, 1979 Motobecane Grand Spirit, or the 1992 Proflex Offroad...

Girvan elastomer headset, and proflex suspension... note the drive which allows chain replacement without masterink... also has superdrive oval sprocket gear. It was years ahead of it's time. Prime advantage of drive was to keep rear wheel on the road.... (mountain)... Eventually sold to Trek... A classic with only 240 built. I bought for $5. and have had it since 2002.

no more mountain biking... too old!

First car was a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL, black, with white top, red interior. Second was a 1967 Mercury Cougar.

But the most fun for me & family was a 1973 VW Bus. Put nearly 200K miles, changed clutch, tranny, rebuilt engine, CV joints, rebuilt & tuned dual carbs, etc,etc,etc.

Traveled all over, just throw every thing in and go !!

I had a '69 vette, but had enough problems with it that I can't call it a favorite (or maybe a favorite for a few minutes at a time).

My real favorite was my '74 Mazda RX2 (with the Wankel engine). Lousy gas mileage, but it would blow the doors off any GM or Ford intermediate sedan with 8 cyl 2bbl carb. 125 mph was no problem. Rode well, roomy, handled well. An overall good car with a surprise for yahoos in their semi-warm Pontiacs, heh, heh. YMMV

Yep, been driving it a month. It has basically become our only car. We still have a second car, but I find it too painful to drive

Just make sure to plan it out, they don't have stock just sitting around, they build it when you order it, so it can take some months to get it. Right now with the reservation backlog 6-9 months. By 2014 that should be down to 1 or 2 months.
