Post your favorite 70s/80's one hit wonders here.

Dancing in the Moonlight - King Harvest

Mexican Radio - Wall of Voodoo

:LOL: As a party DJ I used to mix the "Oh Mickey you're so fine" section with other records, that drum and bass part blended well into many other dance songs of the time. But I never played the entire record :). One memorable time, when someone named "Micky" was at the party, I mixed that section back to back continuously for about 2 minutes... but folks had drunk enough by that point in the party that they did not care and kept pointing to Micky .

While the McCoys were a one-hit wonder in the 60's with "Hang On Sloopy", their guitarist moved on to the Edgar Winter Group, and also became a solo one-hit wonder in the 70's:

There’s also Mah Nà Mah Nà and the Snowths, which reached 55th on the Billboard top 100

Benny Hill used this song a lot in his TV show as background to his funny skits.

Wow nice additions...that first one really brings me back...

This is another great one with similar vibe...
Love the band. Always wonder why Joe Frank got his first and middle names in there and Dan Hamilton and Tommy Reynolds kind of got stiffed.

They had a few hits. "Falling in Love" Went to number 1 and "Winners and Losers" peaked at number 21.

I love this thread!

Does anyone remember, "Thunder and Lightning" by Chi Coltrane?

Mickey and Jenny (867-5309) were the two which came to my mind right away, but others here beat me to them.

Wow, this thread brings back some "good memories".. I'm not sure I can pick just one but so far, I'd vote for "Brandy" and "Afternoon Delight".

I have a whole playlist of one-hit wonders, I'll list just a few from the 70's/80's with one I really like ready to watch.

American Pie - Don McLean

All The Young Dudes - Mott the Hoople

Low Rider - War

Lust for Life - Iggy Pop

https://youtu.be/63c7KL4RTiA?si=T9VAvbR6orJdOGX5 Battleship Chains - Georgia Satellites

I could go on for hours...

Low Rider - another great cowbell tune.

Ram Jam - Black Betty
Georgia Satellites - Keep Your Hands to Yourself
Red Bone - Come and Get Your Love (long intro)
Blue Swede - Hooked on a Feeling -
Steve Martin - King Tut

If you want to burn endless hours, The Midnight Special has been released on DVDs and has recently started posting performance on a new utube channel.

Hooked on a Feellng by Blue Swede was a good song, but the opening was right out of the stone age. No sure whose idea it was to start with “ Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga” but it must have been embarrassing for the band members to sing.

Some things are so bad they're actually great. Another example: those Kung Fu movies they used to play Saturdays after cartoons.

I prefer B. J. Thomas’ original but he was no one-hit wonder.
