What is the last thing you ordered from Amazon?

Sunscreen and a roll of KT Tape. I'm having a bout of plantar fasciitis and the KT tape helps a lot. I could've bought it in a dayglo color to make believe I'm an Olympic athlete :sneaky: but, nah, I opted for the sort of skin color.

What type of CCRC is this - Type A, B, or C? Makes a huge difference. What happens if he needs Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing care? Will that $3700/mo increase, and by how much? Loads of info on the different types of CCRCs in this forum.

What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

We just finished watching Funny Woman on PBS Passport. It started off a bit slow but by the 2nd episode we really enjoyed it. Gotta love the early-mid 60's soundtrack. Apparently Sky TV has renewed it for another season. Oh, we have to Close Caption all the Brit series we watch. As...

An excellent cash rewards card. Just bear in mind that the Citi Double Cash card now charges a fee for foreign transactions.

    2024 Travel Plans

DH & I are road tripping thru Oregon, the Olympic Peninsula & Vancouver Island for a couple of weeks early this summer to celebrate our 35th. Nothing else major planned yet. DH isn't much for travelling (oh well) so I do a lot of stuff on my own or with a GF or 2. I might finish backpacking...

    What was your WR YTD

Y'all made me look. This rainy morning I was puzzling, over many cups of coffee, how to figure out our portfolio withdrawal rate, and Cobra's is the approach that made the most sense to me. (I think that's how W2R and some others did it too?). I basically took our spending for the...

    Your Favorite 2023 Purchase?

I blow my dough on backpacking gear nowadays. My favorite purchase(s) this year were a 0-degree down filled Enlightened Equipment backpacking quilt (I sleep cold) and a Durston X-Mid 1 ultralight tent.

    Moved into CCRC today

Funny how different things are important to different people. I'm with harllee, I hate shopping. Close to me, I'd take nice hiking trails rather than a major retail area any day.

Firecalc results low portfolio balance glitch.

OP here. I was using Firecalc as a model, aka a tool, to assist me in deciding when to start taking Social Security. I did not mention this in my original post because I didn't want to derail this discussion into "when should one start taking SS?" I was keeping our annual spending, portfolio...

Firecalc results low portfolio balance glitch.

Hi, I was running some scenarios on Firecalc and I found an error in the results report. Whenever I do a run where the lowest portfolio balance at the end of 30 years is larger than the starting portfolio balance, the written "Here is how your portfolio would have fared" section always just...

    Coronavirus - Travel impacts II

Well, that's good to hear. Like a few of the posters above, I booked my flight to Montreal on Delta this past autumn. At least now I won't be dinged for the change fee if I cancel my trip next week. Which is looking more and more likely. The Canadian news sites (CBC etc) are reporting the...
