Did the same back in January...gotta tell you it was still a shock to open the mail a few weeks later and see my name on one of those red, white, and blue Medicare cards, though.

Congratulations! My husband couldn't be less concerned about aging and having birthdays but getting the darned Medicare card last year threw him for a loop for few days. He was almost depressed. He got over it of course but it is an event that can be laden with meanings and hidden assumptions.
