Anyone miss being outside the loop

Outtahere,
I do stay in touch with both via email. She is married (darn it) and think Racquel Welsh looks and Grace Kelly style. We swore she never wore the same outfit twice in 8 years of working together. Sexy and elegant. What a combo.

She and I had a little thing where we would share whatever we brought for lunch or breakfast. She'd come by my office and we'd share a snack. Great fun. Lot's of teasing, lots.

I miss those times, mucho.

As for Tony, not nearly as sexy. He was an ex-Marine, door gunner from the Vietnam war. He and I were the only "front" office people who worked on Saturday morning. He's stop at my office with his breakfast from the chow hall and we'd chat for an hour. I'd keep reminding him his breakfast was getting cold.

He told me recently in an email that he really enjoyed those chats. I'm a bit irreverent and what we said on those Saturday chats couldn't be repeated on Monday when everyone else showed up. Great fun.

So I do miss that.

OAP, I assume you meant that you miss being in the loop, not that you miss being out of the loop.

I'm curious as to whether most of you

1. Noticed, but were too nice/felt no need to say anything.

or

2. Didn't notice, because you knew right away what OAP wanted to say.

And while you may think you are out of the loop, is the loop ever really through with you? From Letterman:

Top Ten Signs The Government Is Spying On You

10. Post office wall has several photos of you sleeping

9. Your houseplant occasionally sneezes

8. Domino's keeps delivering to unmarked van parked across the street

7. Birthday card from your mom has several words blacked out

6. You get nominated for "Outstanding Lead Performance in an NSA Surveillance Video"

5. Your dishwasher functions are "Wash," "Rinse" and "Record"

4. Local news only reporting things that happen in your living room

3. Every time you say goodbye on the phone, you hear a strange voice say, "Roger that, Chico"

2. You googled a recipe for humus and the FBI raided your house

1. Suddenly you discover there's an antenna bolted to your ass

Indexter: I were an editor--me notice alright, easy as cake, piece of pie.

Dory:

I didn't even notice the "error" in OAP's subject title because I knew right away what he meant.

And in answer to the original question if I "miss being out of the loop", the answer is most definitely "no". When I talk to my former coworkers, they will talk about stuff going on at the office. I will listen and find some of it interesting or amusing, but I can take it or leave it. Most of the time, we talk about other stuff, like vacation plans, top news of the day, what's going on with the family, jokes, etc. Also, most of my closer friends are people who have nothing to do with my former workplace.

You know I miss smoking dope too, but the baggage that came along with it was just too much.

I miss smoking dope also. Hey what's stopping me?

Here is something that was a private joke in our office, this pertained to a very ambitious employee who could do no wrong. Got all the attention and favors.

Our One Perfect Worker
1 Ms S, a staff member, can always be found at lunch time
2 hard at work in her cubicle. She works independently, without
3 eating soup and smoozing with the bosses. Ms S. never
4 thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and she always
5 finishes given assignments on time. Often she takes extended
6 measures to complete her work, sometimes skipping soup
7 breaks. Ms S is a self-confident individual who has absolutely no
8 vanity in spite of her high accomplishments and profound
9 knowledge in her field. I firmly believe that she can be
10 classed as a high-caliber employee, the type which cannot be
11 dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Ms S be
12 promoted to operations management, and a proposal will be
13 executed as soon as possible.

Addendum:

This back climbing, blindly ambitious, management favorite was
standing over my shoulder while I wrote the report sent to you
earlier today. Kindly re-read only the odd numbered lines.

i dint read this whole thread, but doesnt the OP mean he/she misses being "IN the loop", instead of "Out of it", which I assume he/she is now..
