Condo Apt Insurance?

I live in a one bedroom medium sized condo in St. Pete Florida. Is condo insurance a good investment? My understanding is that it covers the inside of my home, possessions included, but of course not the outside. Am I correct? Any advice or experience to share. Thank you for your time.

Yes, my understanding is that it is similar to renter's insurance on steroids and includes liability insurance and coverage for inside walls, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc. as well. I would not go without it. Ours cost ~$770/year.
