David Bowie, RIP

Way back in 1983 I paid $250 to have front row seats to a concert of his. It was an amazing performance. Worth every penny to me.

Saw him in concert in 1984. Future DW won the tickets by calling into the local radio station to identify the song of the day. Great concert.

RIP Major Tom

Spinning "Let's Dance" on the turntable right now. If I had "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust", I'd play that too. He had a long and varied career, and I have enjoyed virtually all of his music.

Bowie talking about his friend Lennon, and singing "Imagine" on the last night of his 1983 tour, which was also the 3rd anniversary of Lennon's death.

Listening to and watching this, knowing they are both gone, is almost too painful. But it is worth it for the beauty of the song - you can see and hear the love he had for his friend.

The world will never see the likes of those two again, IMHO.
