Ipod quandry

I'm still dredging through the Apple support site, but I figured I would throw this out here. For certain albums (not all), my ipod has started skipping through all the tracks when I try to play the album. Anyone seen this? Any solutions?

I don't have an iPod, but I see this on my PC player when it doesn't support the format of the music. Do you have some music ripped in ogg or other format besides mp3 or Apple's codec?

My brother's collection includes some lyrics files and cover art, and some players try to play those files and skip through them since they aren't playable.

It didnt sound possible so I googled.
Interestingly the general answer is to defragment the ipod.

Thanks for the suggestions. I see I have some fiddling to do with the infernal device.

When I have a glitch on my ipod, I do a "soft reset" and it fixes it. Hold down the center button and the down button till it restarts.

Same here. Usually I have to do this when it stops showing up in itunes.
