It is probably just holiday bloat and will be gone in a week !:)

You guys are a hoot :2funny:

We're still on vacation in Austin "cat sitting" again while DD and SIL drive down to Key West for a New Year's Day wedding, so won't be weighing in until the 13th.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year.

Today same weight as pre holidays . So I met my goal for 2010 and am going to try for five more pounds in 2011.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I have no idea how I did over the holidays, because I haven't weighed in at WW yet (had fifteen days of holiday insanity, including lots of travel and a wedding!). But I feel good and my skinny jeans still fit. Still, I've been hitting the gym for an hour a day this week, just to up my chances of a happy reunion with the scale.

I, however, am not thrilled with the idea of learning a new WW system. The old one was working great for me. I don't really want to change, especially since I feel like I've done a good job of incorporating the dietary habits of the old model (and liked them, thank you very much). Part of the reason that I liked WW was it didn't feel like a fad diet, constantly changing with the fashion of the times. Now, not so much.

But, I can't really see how keeping to the old program and going to meetings (where everyone is on the new program) is going to work. To be entirely fair, I do plan on at least completely reading and understanding the new program, so I can see if it would be a good match for me (haven't done this yet).

Congrats to all of us for still slogging away! I hope, personally, to slog about 25 lbs away this year. Onward!

12/29: surgery

1/12: 174

Before anyone starts extending congratulations, I disappeared for awhile because I knew I had this surgery scheduled and losing weight was no longer a priority nor something I would need to worry about. I had surgery to correct sleep apnea - deviated septum repaired, nasal turbinate reduction, tonsils removed, adenoids removed, uvula removed, soft palate trimmed. After the surgery I had no appetite and couldn't swallow much even if I had been hungry. Lived off of jello, pudding, chicken broth and apple sauce for about eight days. Oh, and I also had a steady supply of Schedule II narcotics in liquid form to help alleviate the pain but the pounds just melted away. Just so you know, this diet plan is very effective but I wouldn't recommend it!

That makes a month in range. So far so good. No exercise this week as I'm out on a training course all day and doing homework at night. Good fun, sorta, but I'm glad it's only a 7 day course.

Btravlin - I don't fancy your diet plan at all. I hope you recover, healthwise, and manage to hang onto much of that enforced weight loss :flowers:

Weighed in yesterday, and despite the holiday craziness am down another 1.5 lbs. More importantly, this brings me down to the 200 lb mark -- a 2/3 goal for me. Whoo-hoo! Only 1/3 more of the way to go.....

Congrats to all, even you, BTravelin. The medical/liquid diet you're on sounds like it's for good reasons. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys, I do appreciate it. Almost back to normal and eating just about everything again. The surgery seems to have done the trick, I'm sleeping much more soundly and waking well rested instead of tired with a headache. I never knew you could draw so much air in through the nose - it's absolutely amazing! And, as an added bonus, my DW is sleeping much better because I no longer snore!

Mr B loves chips. And cookies. And more cookies. :nonono: We keep his goodies in a wicker basket on the peninsula counter. And of course he gains no weight.

It is ALL I can do not to have any. Maybe I should put a cloth over them so I am not visually tempted.

I think with the new year I'll join in. I'm a relapsed lifetime member of WW. I've gone back and lost 15 pounds so far. I am doing much, much better on the new program (lost 6.5 pounds from Thanksgiving to New Years on the new program which is really good for me).

Anyway, I'll use my official previous Saturday WW weigh in.

190.4

Welcome to Wednesday weigh in ! There are several WW followers on here .

Welcome to the thread Meow :flowers:

Sounds like you have been doing geat. Well done.

I read somewhere that success requires setting a goal, recording progress and making the effort public, so here I am! I'm a 58 yr old male, 5'10" tall. Twelve days ago I started at 214 lbs. Today I weighed in at 206. For my height I guess I'm supposed to weigh 175 lbs. Seems pretty low to me!

Other than dehydration, to what do you attribute this 8 lb loss? How did you do it?

Congratulations everyone! Losing weight and maintaining the loss takes a lot of work and attention and self control. You guys are doing great.

Ha

Welcome to the thread :greetings10:

If I may make a suggestion, why not set your initial target at losing 10% of your initial weight, which is no mean feat. May be a target weight of 190, which is an impressive 24lbs.

If you can then maintain that weight for a few weeks, set a new target of 175 and strive for that.

Keep us posted and good luck.

Ha,
Thanks for the encouragement :)
