BWE, great start on your new initiaitive. I'm very impressed that you've started on the new program 2 weeks before the holidays.

First time I've been in range since June 2, which was right before the 10 week trip to England. DW's 5 day diet the week before dropped 3lb so it is very nice to see another pound come off this week.

So now I have results from the first week of the new and improved Weight Watchers Points Plus Plan and a big Yay for me. Starting second and final 25 lb. loss goal:

12/9/10, week 1: -2 lbs.

The new plan doesn't count points for any fresh fruit or most vegetables. The formula assigns lower point values for protein, too. It looks like it is about 1100 to 1300 calories a day plus the fruit/vegetable calories. Activity is separate.

Interestingly points for swimming went down while points for high intensity went up, compared to the old plan. I found a gym that I really like a couple of weeks ago and have been going there pretty consistently so far.

If we can all hang on through the end of the year we'll be a step ahead come January.

Skip the bike and just increase your favorite exercise !:)

I will just have to cut back on the chocolate and pizza, AND get back on the bike. I get plenty of exercise outside in the summertime, but winter is pretty much the ultimate "indoor sport" opportunity. ;)

On a more serious note, my weight has fluctuated all my life. I still keep my eye on the 177.5 lb data point in late 2008 when I first started posting here.
A 6 lb net gain over 2 years is still OK in my book. I ain't 20 anymore. :D
 
Haven't weighed in since I bottomed out at 180 in the summer.
I've ballooned to 201.6. I usually lose/gain 20 pounds every year so I'm not concerned, but I'm restarting my spring training (and weekly weigh-ins) now.

I weighed in today after a short absence and I am down three more pounds .Yipee! I am working on my wardrobe since my old clothes are falling off me .Thanks everybody for keeping me motivated .

Managed to hang onto the weight loss for 2 weeks now. However, we were out shopping yesterday and picked up a load of edible goodies for the 2 weeks we'll be spending with the kids in Austin over Christmas and New Year so I'm not going to get used used to being in range :D

Apparently, had a little too much sushi, mexican, and beer this past weekend. :blush:

Congrats Moemg and Alan on your continued weight loss! This thread really is great motivation to lose or maintain (whichever your goal).

Week 2 (Aug. 12): Down 2.4 lbs
Week 3 (Aug. 19): Down 3.4 lbs
Week 4 (Aug. 26): Down 1.0 lb (kind of a so-so week. I've been sick since Monday so no motivation to exercise at all. Hope to get back on the wagon next week when I'm hopefully feeling better :sick:).

Week 6 (Sep. 9): Down 2.6 lbs
Week 7 (Sep. 16): Down 2.4 lbs

What helped a lot was the school holidays. It meant one of my tennis buddies was off work, so I played tennis Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, and that really burns a whole load of calories, and by not eating extra it seems to have given a nice boost to weight loss. I also kept up my regular weekday morning routine so had 2 hrs exercise at the Y each morning as well as tennis in the afternoon.

I have been eating more carbs and oops I gained two pounds so it is back to being good !

Same here. Gained ~5 pounds from eating bread and potatoes with friend.

Starting to go away now. Back on "Mediterranean Light".
 
You guys are admirable!!! I'm coasting through December, maintaining on my home scale, but not weighing in officially until January 6 (when I hope to have an epiphany about losing weight) and will dive back into the new WW program.
