Methods to save money on eyeglasses

I have used Zenni for years and have always been happy with the results. Especially for kids' glasses, they are unbeatable. Lose a pair? Smash a frame playing sports? It's easy to keep an inexpensive spare pair and then replacing is a minor annoyance instead of a big expense and source of family friction.

I also use them for a low cost pair of computer glasses with a prescription adjusted for screen distance when I don't want to hassle with my regular progressive lenses.

I caught a sale of get two for the price of one or something like that. I used to pay almost double this amount but the price has come down I guess. I use Visionworks (used to be Lenscrafters at the place I've been going to for years).

As the popularity of ordering glasses online has grown over the past few years, I've noticed the large optical places (those with a national presence) advertising much lower prices than they used to.

Hmmmm...correlation? causation? ;)
