Most people dont want to buy apple due to pricing.
Pay once, pay once....
Im still running my macbook air laptop from 2009.
Still works fine!
Ive gone through many window systems over the years.

I'm still running a >12 year old Windows computer that I built as my primary desktop system, still getting security updates, and it's fast and rock solid.

Yep, there are good reasons to buy Apple. I don't know of any and likely never will.

How much does Apple charge for new OS ?

Nothing - free to run on their hardware.

Same with many of their apps like Numbers (spreadsheet), Pages (word processor), Keynote (presentations), iMovie (video editor), Photos (photo editor), etc.
