Neat birds. Here are some more rodeo photos (see them all here).

The clown asks for a fat, ugly volunteer from the audience...

The "volunteer" goes into the machine, which gets stuck in the on position, then a kid in the same outfit comes out...

I just came back from a wonderful vacation, thought I would share some of my pictures:

This is Moreno Lake, near Llao Llao in patagonia during Nobember 2006. (It is hard to write down a phonetic pronunciation for this. Think chow chow but with an "sh" sound instead of a "ch" sound.) Llao Llao is near Bariloche, another one of our favorite places. We rented a perfectly good one bedroom apartment there for $500/month. Bariloche is a ski resort and November is off-season for them - their early spring. Bariloche has a good bus system and it only costs about a buck for the 30 minute ride from downtown Bariloche to Llao Llao. Private taxis (remis) are good, safe, and cheap also.

Say hello to my "little friend"...

Yes, "down under" last month...

Gorgeous pictures, I hadn't checked this thread for a while. It took 50 seconds (I timed it) to download. How about the next person who wants to post pictures start a new thread?

Tee hee, I just came across these photos taken in the fall of 1984. I had just moved to Geneva (ah, the days of Mega-corp Ex-pat benefits) and was enchanted.

Annecy is a charming medieval town that was luck enough to have not suffered war damage and poor enough to avoid urban renewal. Lac d'Annecy "decants" into a series of canals that flow through the town. It must have been the healthiest place in Europe at the time.

I was delighted to see that Firedreamer's photos show that the lovely old place hasn't changed. We even took almost the same photos! Mine alas show 25 years of discoloration.

The surf has been big lately, and here, where it gets deep fast, the waves have an interesting way of breaking on the shore.

I forgot about this thread. I liked this image of a church in a reservoir on our recent biking trip to the Dolomites.

They prayed for rain?

San Francisco last Friday was a real culture shock. One thing I noticed was a lot of people, mostly thin, expensively dressed women, walking dogs.
I persume you've never been to Paris (where they keep their mini-pooches in their oversize handbags)? I've both worked and traveled in France quite extensively. What I can't understand is that French women dress so well - the opposite of French men, who do so (in most cases) poorly...

BTW, here's a shot from the tram going up Mt. Pilatus (Luzern, Switzerland) taken two weeks ago when DW was on another of her trips...
