There's lovely threads about 'what did you do today' and 'your happiest moment today. So I don't know if anyone will ever take part in tad grumpier version of it, but I figured what the heck, I'll go:

Ok, to Vladdy and the RobinHood people....

I admit without jealousy and with humility - you created wealth, you succeeded, you called customers to people and action and you built a business. You've succeeded well beyond me times 20 lifetimes. BUT.....

Can you just go away.

Reddit trades. Picking random companies because you can stick it to the man. On one hand mad at the Wall Street Casino games----- only to start your own, on steroids. Then of course, just using dollars and checks isn't good enough. Online payments, auto pays, direct deposit - - just not good enough. People on earth are lacking basic food and shelter but what do we wanna tackle? Oh, yea, we need CryptoCurrency and all of a sudden...... Aidan, Logan, and Cassidy are looking up from their "Hello Fresh!" meal-boxes full of overpriced crap, and using words like "Doge'" and everyone is there own little John Pierpoint Morgan now.

C'mon guys, can't you just go back. Just go back to Chipotle. Get on your $1500 Mac, buy your $15.00 lunch because you're too cool to eat other fast-food, and then blog about how "debt" is crushing you. Then maybe blog about how you are tolerant and so open-minded, but get on your little dating apps and make sure to let people know NOT to approach you if they don't think or vote the same as you.

And when that gets old, why not listen to, watch, or create the latest remake, reboot, or refresh of what used to be, and still will be a magnificent movie or song, that was created decades ago, with *less* tech and resources and is superior to your stuff, despite all your advantages. You know, take a hit song, show, or movie - make it more evil and dark, turn sensuality into cheapened sexuality, inject some political correctness and revisionism....be a negative influence on kids, and then wonder why there's lockdown drills in schools, oh, and why your remake version didn't last long, while the classic version is still iconic.

Oh, and then -in a few years, make sure to re-fresh the re-boot.

Tweets, Likes, Instawhatevers, you offended me, don't offend me, my SafeSpace, Ok Boomer, OrganicSustainable Lifestyle, NoCarb lifestyle - yeah, all those tribal labels for identity-purposes must be tasty, washed down with a drink that is void of any heritage or history. Yeah, I'm envious. But really, c'mon, maybe go take your puppy to the spa, get on your Peloton and pretend you're part of a community because your TweetLikeInsta life doesn't fulfill you, do something - but can finance not be one of them please. I know I know, it's your time. Well - look around, yeah, it is your time. I aint' gonna fight you for it.

If all of that doesn't work - why not go get in line for a whole day for the newest SmartPhone? Supposedly you need a holiday to vote - -but you got plenty of time for that.

Get off my lawn! :)

Sounds like you might belong over in the Pet Peeve thread?

Was there an extra teaspoon of curmudgeon sauce instead of sugar on the corn flakes this morning?

I was just thinking this would be a big "Pet Peeve"--lol

maybe unplug for a day or a month?

OP, do you know any actual young people?

Plenty of them have no time (or money) to waste on the latest fads. I was amazed how frugal and practical my thirty-something co-workers could be. Some of them even had a "financial independence" thread going on the company intranet.

I know some twenty-somethings who appear (I hope!) to be on a good path, too. Handling life in a much savvier way than I recall doing it at that age. I'll just mention one: a second cousin who's a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. His grandpa (my uncle) learned to fly just 'cause he wanted to, but his dad (my cousin) didn't like flying one bit.

Yes, the younger generation are indignant and scared about climate change. Who can blame them? I can only imagine how terrible it's going to be about the time they are my age, and I am dead.

Young People

Entitling it 'Get off my lawn' was sort of saying that I'm having a little fun with being grumpy about this or that. Unlike the trend these days, I'm not "all in" or all out on any agenda or opinion.

Plenty of good things also.

Young folks are forcing transparency on the world.

Young folks seeing to it that people don't get hurt, abused, or worse - - merely for whom they go to bed with or whom they marry.

But, IMO - some of the trends and habits I spoke of in my post - are indeed real too

Shades of gray, and a little bit of fun. It was hardly a seriously policy position.
