I'm not yet retired so I have the 'pleasure' of still enjoying those wonderful team meetings / town halls. In fact, I'm watching one on my work computer at this very moment. While I had the volume turned down, I happened to notice someone in the audience standing up holding a box with megacorp's logo on it. "What the heck?". I turned the volume back up and learned that the audience members had to toss the box to the next person who wanted to ask a question of the panel members.

Gotta love those HR folks! Anyone know what the genius theory is behind this type of 'sharing'? Seems like it's some type of not so subtle message that man-age-ment has control of even the ability to speak.

Good grief.

Or that HR feels your loss of brain cells is so significant that you can be treated like a 4th grader. They keep looking for ways to make communicating fun and engaging, without realizing that they subtly send the signal that y'all aren't smart enough to understand.

So glad I am retired.

Reminds me of an international sales meeting I heard about.
Some genius thought it would be a good team building exercise to have a scavenger hunt.

The two members of the French sales force just said: "this is sooo stupide....you go chase around looking under rugs...we'll be at the bar drinking wine...have fun and we'll see you in a few hours."
