Looks like some rules for this are in order.   

Only sex between consenting humans.

No farm animals, exotic reptiles, or members of the rodent family are allowed.

If you paid for it, it don't count.

Sex my yourself does not count.

Sex with an inanimate object does not count.

Sex with a species outside of the solar system does not count.

Sex in your sleep does not count.

Sex you cannot remember does not count—This includes drug or alcohol induced memory loss or memory loss due to finally being aware of gross physical appearance deficiencies in the partner you ended up with last night.


As a result of this poll, the US government has announced it will now impose a sex tax.  It is called the Screw You Tax and is being promoted as the “screwing you will get for the screwing you got.”  Monitoring devices will soon be implanted with a pay as you go system to assure compliance.

Statistically, men report double the real number and women report half the real number.

Even when "nailed down" (cough) and the "real" numbers are established, the men must be sleeping with aliens because the men have had twice as many partners as the women have.

As it turns out, anecdotally the men THINK they've had more partners. The women THINK they've had fewer.

The last reasonably done study, for example, had men at something like 5-6 partners in their lives and women at 2-3.

This would only be a problem if one assumed that all men sleep only with women. Gay men have (according to stereotype) tended to be much more promiscuous than lesbians, which would give some skew right there.
