This is only a test - The text "Line1" and "Line2" below should show separated by one, and one only, empty line. Not two...

Ok, the Firefox (Quantum famly, version 84) default settings seem to insert double line breaks for empty lines.

Let's try one more time, this time by toggling the Firefox's setting named "editor.use_div_for_default_newlines" via "about:config", from the default value of true, to false: "Line1" should show separated from the text paragraph that you're just before it, by exactly 1 empty line, and also "Line2" should be separated from "Line1" also by exactly 1 empty line:

One more time, this time using Shift+Enter to insert new lines:

Ok, using Shift+Enter works. But it is super annoying having to use that instead of just Enter. I also see a "Switch Editor Mode" button in the "Quick Reply" bar - wondering what is that button supposed to do?<Shift+Enter typed twice>

Line1<Shift + Enter typed twice>

Line2<JustEnter typed twice>

Line3 (should show separated from Line2 by 2 empty lines instead of just one)

Surprisingly, "Line3" showed separated only by 1 empty line, instead of 2 as I was expecting. Maybe the firefox's editor.use_div_for_default_newline option set to false did not save, and it's applied only now. Let's try again, with only simple Enter keys this time, everwhere:
