I certainly experienced that. I dealt with it by being focused and learning to say "no". But it still felt overwhelming and was a contributing factor to my ER.

All too true in my case as well. Add to that the habit of many folks in Mega Corp to "empire build" and take credit for your hard work, along with a consistent practice of obliviousness by senior management. It's no wonder that top performers leave Mega Corp for greener pastures.
