What are the downsides of having cash in Roth vs. traditional?

I was anecdotally reading something that said that a Roth IRA would be counted in various means-testing situations vs. a traditional. I think that the situations involved Medicaid spend-down, student aid, etc.

Does anyone know of a good website that carefully details all the gotchas of one IRA vs. the other?

Sorry I don't have such a link, but there are pros and cons to all options otherwise everyone would be signed up for the best option and none for the others. Roth has so many long-term pluses that it was a no-brain-er for me.
