DS and his dgf are bringing some friends to the lake house this weekend. Made sure the jet skis are running right and got the grass cut. Had a nice long shower,,must be time for a cold libation.

Changed my bicycle tires then tuned up both bicycles (mine and DW - lube chains, pedals).

A good and close friend died today so it is a bit of a blue day here. Just played golf with him a week ago. Puts things in perspective. RIP Billy.

Harvested and processed lots and lots of peaches and same amount to do tomorrow. Pressing on since blackberry bushes are full and only a few days before they will need picking and processing.

So sad. My condolences. Take care. Your memories of Billy will stay with you and hopefully be of some comfort to you during this tough time.

Disassembled a 30 year old furniture piece to use it for future DIY projects. It was an indoor piece which I tried to use it outdoors. Bad idea. After a few days of rain, the furniture started to fall apart to a point of no return.

Snow again this morning. We have had snow and fog almost every day this week. I'm ready for some sunshine!
No snow here. It's 87 and sunny. I'm at work, but having lunch with a friend, then going to the camp to clean up a bit. Having a slumber party for my younger DS's birthday. Six 12 year old boys. No peace and quiet this weekend. [emoji3]

Yesterday was our snow day, I got up and headed to New Mexico for a urologist appointment that my insurance won't cover. He's still of the opinion he can get my surgery approved there, I'll let him try. I asked about the other providers my insurance company wants me to use and I got an earful. "I wouldn't let that person operate on my dog". I think that's a negative review.

It was a difficult trip as I'm in an immense amount of pain from my cspine. I've been taking steroids and opioids but yesterday was the last steroid of the batch, made it rough. I have some hydrocodone but driving on it is difficult. I'm only taking partial doses so I can enjoy the pain. Interesting drive several serious accidents and a road killed elk. Really need to pay attention.

When I got home my PCP had a review of my MRI(pinched nerve(who knew?)) and already documented how many more hydrocodone she would give me. Glad she already knows my pain levels, heck maybe she can predict the market too?

I have an appointment at a spine specialist tomorrow; hopefully they can do an epidural to stop the insane pain. Today is day 7, if I could get treatment that would be the fastest turn around ever. I'd waited 6 weeks in Y2K for treatment.

It is snowing heavily in the late afternoon. Looks like a winter picture post card with big flakes and no wind.

I'm glad that you made it there and back without incident. Those two lane mountain roads in snow are no fun when you feel good. I hope you get relief from the pain soon.

My ceramic hole drills arrived. I used them to cut holes on pots for DW to plant plants. I can't believe the whole set is less than $10. Despite the low price, the bits worked well. Holes are cut nicely, and I didn't break any pots in doing so.

Afterward, I built a wooden case for the drill set.

In between, I've got 12 holes of golf in before I got too angry/hungry to continue. LOL.

More a weekly update... Power washed the concrete patio and driveway, plus part of a wooden beam retaining wall. Found a new mowing service. Had new windows installed; now vacuuming the thin layer of dust on everything. All this with sciatica from hell in my left hip.

More outside work to do, after coffee and food.

Drove the motorhome for a few miles to exercise it. It has been sitting for more than 6 months. The engine started right up, which was a relief. Its genset also started up right away, but that was because I drained the carburetor.

Wonder how long the Sta-Bil lasts in the tank. Maybe I should add some fresh ounces just for peace of mind.

One of my bands played a gig last night, and we play the same place again tonight.

More purging...sold one of my bass amps to a young kid (well, mid-20's :) ) this morning who was excited to buy it. As soon he left I posted another amp for sale.

GF is heading over shortly to help me empty a spare bedroom...the master ensuite build is underway and a wall is coming down between to two smaller bedrooms.

My mum is moving. And I am helping. So this evening we went over and looked around. Draw up a map with measurements etc.

She is downsizing from a house to a 3 bedroom flat for health reasons. And it's impossible to fit all her furniture and other possessions. But she is happy to get everything on one floor and modern standards all around.

Found out my sister-in-law and her hubby got a pup the other day. It's a Sheepadoodle...a cross between a sheep dog and yeah, a poodle. Never heard of such a thing. I need to get out more often.

Doodles are interesting dogs. I spent the day with a Cavapoo I've known since 8 weeks. In this case the mix wants to sit with me as a King Charles Cavalier would do with royalty. The poodle characteristics are there too. Clean, no shedding, and in charge of the owner.

Neighbor has one, it is a cool dog. Always alert and well mannered. It's a goofy looking dog after it's groomed but that adds to the charm.

Yesterday we played tourist. We live in a tourist town and all the tourists are back so we joined them. Ate at a brewry down on the river, crowded with people. Then we walked the riverwalk. It was puppy day! There were 3 folks who had 3-4 month old pups on their first big outdoor adventures. One was a 3 month old lab that really wanted to come home with me. [emoji111]

it will last a couple of years. (Read the label) I would add a little to freshen it up. DD's generator had Sta-Bil in the tank for almost 5 years and it started right up.

I have a Kindle Voyage and I absolutely love it. Use it almost daily and I've always bragged about the great battery life.

So naturally the battery went south on me very suddenly the other day and now it won't even go 24 hours on a charge. Pretty sad for something only three years old. Fortunately, I found a place that sells replacement batteries and it appears to be pretty easy to open it up and swap them out.

The sad part is that Amazon doesn't even sell it any more, as they want you to upgrade to the newer Oasis model which has a different form factor so I'd have to buy a new cover for it as well.

Thank goodness for 3rd party battery sellers!
