Interesting phases. Not sure that I agree with all. That feeling lost happens very early for some folks.
Quite a long time ago I heard the expression that retirement is three phases, Go-Go, Slow-Go, No-Go. I like these because I think they’re simpler, and I watched my parents go through them.
We are retired seven years and are still in the go-go, but we are having to rearrange vacations here and there due to health issues, like needing time for Ortho surgery and rehab. But we are not ready to call ourselves a slow-go yet.
We are still doing road trips, flying places and staying, and cruising. Slow-go will be when we only do cruises (because they are the easiest type of vacation for me, and I do most of the organizing and packing.). You unpack once, somebody cooks and cleans, they entertain you, you can choose how you roam each port, and at the end you pack up and go home. Easy Peasy.
