Move over Teamviewer and Anydesk, there's a new player in town.

More specifically, Rustdesk.

I used to swear by Teamviewer but then more and more "improvements" made the program feel bloated. So, I turned to Anydesk and swore by that until "improvements" also made that program feel bloated.

Now comes Rustdesk. An open source alternative. So far so good. Hope there aren't too many "improvements" :( down the road.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out!

You're welcome. I did some kicking of the tires yesterday.

I have a main desktop that's a Win machine. Another desktop that I have Linux Mint on. Plus a travel laptop with MX Linux. Installed Rustdesk on each and remote controlled them.

Seems to work fine except for one hitch. I do have a work around.

When I used my mobile as a hotspot to test will Rustdesk work outside of my own router's network, I had an error message about method being not recognized. I then paired my hotspot with my travel modem and then Rustdesk worked fine without error. So, mental note, at least for now, Rustdesk plays nice with travel router but not so nice with mobile hotspot.
