Not sure how I stumbled upon Early Retirement.org but glad to be here. I just fired my financial planner this past week .He seemed to be more interested in his planning fee, AUM fee and high cost mutual funds.
I wish I had been more diligent in paying attention to this years ago but I was
more focused on running my company. I thought he was looking out for me !
I have parked funds in a Scottrade account where I will liquidate the bad investments and develop a much simpler portfolio. I preliminary plan is to move assets into various Vanguard funds.
I have to become familiar with protocol here and then post to get some input. Just turned 64 and hope to retire in 3 years.
