The 2025 part is my thinking, but the purpose of the thread is to think outside the box and open a discussion on the coming convergence of these 3 factors.

1. AI
2. Loss of privacy
3. Social Credit System

To provide a basis for any common discussion, reading this Wikipedia article will help set a framework.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Credit_System

I believe that this will happen, and can be positive...

YMMV... but that's what discussions are about. :)

Maybe I'm the only one who read Orwell's "1984" and found it disturbing

Inevitable it may be, but that doesn't make it good.

Somebody here has a tagline to the effect that any power that can be abused will be abused. They are spot on.

The thing with AI's and the social credit system is:
Who gets to train the AI? (= whose biases are going to be imprinted on the system)
Who determines what is a social "credit" or a social "debit"? There are a few slam dunks, but there is a heck of a lot of no-mans-land in between.

I see nothing positive here.
And I'm not placing any bets on a dystopian future for the US - at least not in my lifetime.
