Okay. I voted with the thought of who I think will win (not necessarily who I want to win).

Ryan and the Falcons are on a roll and this might be their magical year. I think playing indoors will help as they are used to playing indoors. I might well be wrong, but I think the Pats defense vs the Falcons offense is better than the Falcons defense vs the Pats offense.

So, I'm going with, after very good back and forth scoring, final score of Pats 34, Falcons 27.

It should be a good game and as they say, on any given day, anyone can win. I'd like to see the Patriots beat badly but this is business, and my "money" is on Brady and his boys.

Smart move....Never bet with your heart

unless you're on the field, they aren't "your" team...

We in Patriots Nation think of them as "our" team. That's what makes us different I guess and because of our support it makes them the most dominant team in the NFL in the last 16 years.......

I think Bob Kraft would disagree with what HFWR wrote too. They are clearly his team and I think he would say he shares them with the fans.

I think Cowboy fans are pretty rabid as well, and, certainly, having a cheering crowd doesn't hurt. But I've yet to see a fan score a TD...

And, I would add, Kraft, or Jerry Jones, or whoever, is happy for your fanship, which is why it's $50 to park, hundreds to get a seat, and another hundred for a beer and hotdog, and another hundred for team jerseys, jackets, etc. Go fans! [emoji12]

As for my original post, both GB and P were on a nice late season roll, with QBs famous for pulling rabbits out of hats, so it wasn't that far-fetched to think there could be some upsets. Any given Sunday and all that...

However, my post was an obvious attempt at self-deprecating humor. The response was not humorous...

Agreed. It is comical when people get really worked up over a football game they're watching on tv. I call those people couch coaches. Gotta love the us vs them mentality.

Oh and heres a nice little pie chart that breaks down what minutes are spent on an nfl game, lol. Its great when they show 15 seconds of game then 6 minutes of commercials. NFL games on tv are as bad as the walking dead. Both of which ive given up on because of commercials.

Which is one reason that I DVR sports!!!!

BTW, I will disagree with your pie chart a bit on game action... they probably time from the snap... but there is action prior to the snap that is part of the game and if you do not watch it you are missing out... I would at least double the 11 minutes....

You must really hate baseball! [emoji12]

Baseball was my favorite sport as a kid, so the slow pace doesn't bother me.

I have been attending 3 to 4 Patriots games per year since the mid 70'. Back then we paid for parking, beer and hot dogs to cheer for a mediocre team that seldom had a winning season. Paying $250 per person per game for tickets, parking, beers and hotdogs nowadays to cheer for a superior product that has been bringing joy to us for the last 20 years or so is well worth it.

Our SWR supports this expense.....;)

+1 I wonder if anyone has ever done a chart like that for a baseball game...

Our Dish remote has a 30 second skip button and if I push it at the end of a football play, more often than not it skips to just before the next snap.... unless the offense is in hurry up mode.

I have actually wondered if this was how they chose the interval. Or maybe it was 30 second commercials... I guess that's a possibility but then i have to push button 5 or 6 times to skip so maybe not.

As a "fan" of the Mavs and Rangers , I understand the long-suffering part. Back in the day, I could often get a ticket for $5; granted it was in the left field bleachers, or in the rafters at Reunion Arena. Haven't been to a Mavs game in many years, or a Ranger game in 4-5 years. Have gone to a few Stars games the past few years, but that's about it. Just lost interest...

I've only been to one Cowboy game ever. Seats in the back corner of the end zone, with lousy sight lines, plus basically stood the whole game. My couch is a much better seat, and is easier on the SWR... [emoji51]

The NFL is all I watch these days, mostly because it's a fall/winter sports, plus the season is only seventeen weeks. But if it's nice outside, I won't be parked in front of the tv for nine hours.

...and a note to you guys out there. DO NOT FORGET FEB 14th! Pitchers and Catchers report for Spring Training

Yeah like that's the reason to remember February 14th. Why that's just a couple of days after I turn 60!

I sure hope the Falcons win. Nothing against New England but they've been there, done that in recent years. I hear the Falcons are underdogs and I like the players on their team. Seems like the new coach (2 years) is doing good things and the players are starting to "click."

Voted "other" because I don't know enough about the odds to really say one way or another. As long as the Falcons win I'll be happy.

At a minimum I hope the commercials are interesting. Last year was a little disappointing in the advertising department.

I'll be rooting for the Falcons because they've never won a Super Bowl. However, I think the Pats win by 10 due to their strong defense.

Got one more day left to put in your pick for the poll if you haven't already and still want to.

As of this moment, tally has about 56% picking Pats, 34% picking Falcons.

No matter the outcome, hopefully, it'll be a great game without any outside distractions so folks can watch (or party) in peace and quiet :).

I think this will be the most exciting SB in many years. I wouldn't be surprised to see upwards of 70 points scored. I'm rooting for Atlanta to win and predicting 38-34.

I find myself going back and forth on this game. I would like the Falcons to win, but I'm picking final score Pats 34, Falcons 27 with experience beating out a really hot hand.

I want the Pats to win but I think the Falcons will prevail. If Atlanta can rush Brady like they did Aaron Rodgers it's over.

Which team is better on Astroturf?

Indoors on a fast turf has to help the Falcons as I think that's what they are more familiar with. But I don't know which team has a better won loss record on turf.

The paid oddsmakers as still saying NE by 3, so I'll agree with them (because it's what I want to believe). DW will be impossible to live with if NE loses, so more incentive for me. I always want the Pats to win, but the Falcons were dominant in their playoffs - so the Pats will have their hands full.

As usual, how much time the QBs get will probably tell the story unless turnovers are lopsided. Brady and Ryan are both dangerous if you give them time, though Brady has gotten better at getting rid of the ball when his offensive line is overmatched. Hopefully Brady is still mad about his horrible performance against Houston, mad seems to work for Brady. And which Pats defense shows up is always a variable, they're brilliant some times, AWOL others.

Watching the news, it looks like 'merica is rooting for the underdog in this fight. As my team is not involved (well technically it's not MY team as I sold most of my sport franchises in the last downturn to gain cash flow), let's hope for a tight game with big plays.
