Teeth cleaning today. Hate it!

Let's now take your blood pressure. Very good!
I have never had a dental hygienist or a dentist taking my blood pressure. Interesting! Maybe I did not get my money's worth.

Next time, I will ask, and insist that they draw my blood and take a urine sample.

Soldered up the driver board for the new amplifier;

We've just arrived to Las Vegas after visiting Zion canyon today. It's a wonderful place and we definitely will be back here. The food is delicious compare to Bryce Canyon. My husband and I took so many pictures, I hope we get a few good ones. The beauty of digital camera is you can take as many pictures as you like, and if you don't like something, you can just hit delete. It's a beautiful sunny day. Very good for pictures. We made many stops. The beauty of a good life, aka retirement traveling.

Hygienist typed on computer for at least 15 minutes, supposedly "updating" my health records. For all I know she could have been writing emails. Our conversation during that time went:
Is anything changed since your last visit? No.
Any surgeries since your last visit? No.
Are you still on x and y medications? Yes, nothing's changed.
Any new medications? No.
Any new discomfort or pain in this tooth? No, nothing's changed.
Do you still brush twice per day? Yes. As I've said, nothing's changed!
We still have to ask these questions. Do you still floss once per day?
Yes! And I really need to get back to work pretty soon.
Let's now take your blood pressure. Very good!
And then after another 5 minutes of "updating " my health records the actual cleaning commences. A 20 minute procedure took about an hour.

Aargh.

Dental hygienist taking your blood pressure? Wow. I had my teeth cleaned last week. The hygienist chatted about her life, I told her about my low carb diet, she talked about hers. We exchanged recipe ideas. She told me I didn't give her much to do[emoji106].

A quick cleaning and I was in my way.

Today: Our 9 year old Mac PC pro but the dust. It's toast. DH ordered another one. Another budget blown. Oh well.

Wow, never thought of that.

Vegas is quite the change after Zion...Zion has been my happy place for many years. We have made many trips in early December.. no shuttles. very few people, the streets of Springdale are calm and peaceful.

I love Springdale. I'm surprise by the vegetations between two canyons, Bryce and Zion.
Vegas is a stop before we head home. Everything goes through Vegas because it's about 3 hours home.

I have.

First person that did it, I... well I used to have issues passing out at a doctor's office. Suddenly I thought Dentist = DR. and went sideways and started trying to pass out. The poor girl, I saw her eyes getting bigger the farther away I went. She went running out of the room, shortly after she and the dentist came running back. When I said I felt like I was passing out they were pretty happy.:D

I guess when you pass out your BP gets really low.

They always take blood pressure at my dental clinic now. I don't know why. Yes, next thing will be weight, height, urine sample, etc. They don't even have good music and no view out the window. I think I'm in a dental rut.

When the hygienist talked to me and I tried to respond, she said that I was supposed to listen and not talk back; she couldn't work on my teeth while I talked. :)

Today I am going to a friend's house for a spa day, reflexology, chair massage, lunch and a sauna. I am excited!

When you see them bring out the sigmoidoscope you might want to consider a different dentist.

Suggest a manicure or a foot massage.

We went to a splendid local breakfast place. I had a ginger spiced pulled pork with eggs, hash browns and a pita to sop up the delicious sauce. Mmm good. Later, I prepared one of our raised beds and planted peas and lettuce, then mulched my new apple trees. When I came back in, the release of our mortgage was in the mail (we made the last payment in December) and we are now officially mortgage free for the first time in almost 24 years. This evening, we'll crack open one of our bottles of 1977 vintage port to celebrate.

Gumby, CONGRATULATIONS on paying off your mortgage!!! :D
It's a wonderful feeling to have set a goal, worked hard towards it, and to have accomplished that goal. Definitely cause for celebration. And wait 'till you see how good it feels to not have to pay the mortgage next month, or ever again. :)

Congrats, Gumby! Paying off a mortgage calls for a great bottle of wine.

I could have used a bottle of wine today. Got trapped in an elevator that got stuck - with DW and a another senior citizen. I pushed the door open button. I pushed all of the buttons. I pushed the emergency call button and reached a human voice. I explained that we were stuck in the elevator and couldn't get out. The voice asked if I needed a paramedic. I said no - I need an elevator repairman. Some time went by without anything happening. I called the emergency button again, was asked again if I needed a paramedic. This time I said yes. About 20 minutes later, we heard people working on the elevator, then it rose to the second floor and the door opened. Never saw the paramedic or repair people.

Wow, glad you got out of that elevator, Ronstar! That would scare me to death.

One of our single friends bought a house with an elevator the size of a small closet. My worst nightmare would be being alone in that house and getting stuck in that tiny space. Who would come and rescue you in a private elevator:D

It did seem like it fell / jolted a little when it arrived at the ground floor. But It wasn't too bad because I knew we were at the bottom - it couldn't fall any farther. This was far better than the time I was trapped in an elevator with my boss during a tornado induced power outage.

I won't ride in those small home elevators for exactly the reasons you cite. They scare me to death. I have thought of some pretty creative excuses to get out of riding on them. :D

Golfed with a couple friends and one of the friend's son. OK day... some good holes and some ugly holes on a difficult course with lots of water. Then the four of us went out to lunch and had a couple pitchers.

Went home and had a nice nap... then dinner.

Currently watching the NCAA D3 National Championship men's ice hockey game on the big screen... one of the teams is from a college not far from where we used to live.

How did we miss it? We just came back from Las Vegas and heard there was a shooting near Cosmopolitan hotel and a jewelry robbery at Bellagio.

Today I set up automatic estimated tax payments for 2017, at EFTPS for the IRS, and at the LADOR site for Louisiana estimated tax payments. On the correct dates, both online services will automatically deduct my estimated taxes for each quarter from my checking account (my choice of several payment methods). I have saved the appropriate screenshots with all info including confirmation numbers.

So, now I don't have to even think about estimated taxes, except to confirm that the correct payments have been made each quarter. I have done this every year for quite some time, after Audreyh1 enlightened me about EFTPS years ago. It's so convenient.
My BIL turned me on for this last year. I do it with the IRS and the FTB in CA. Easy, and nothing to remember.

Went to a live music event and met Janis Joplin. Probably not the Janis you are thinking of, but Janis Joplin.
